What a day at work...

Hi all I figured I would tell you all about my day at work today. First off I work for a bank which is a wonderful job that I really enjoy and with that one of the perks is our banker hours. Anyway today I didn't have to be at work until noon so before I went into work I stopped at a few local pet stores and bought a few more doggie toys for my future boxer puppy. Once I arrived at work it was pretty much a normal wednesday at the bank...a few customers here and there, overall just a slow day. Well about 50 minutes after I got there we had a gentleman come in who then walked up to the girl who works in the teller window right next to me. When he came in I just had a very uneasy feeling about him...not going to go into details but I could tell something was about to go down.

As I was sitting there I noticed that he had passed her something and it took her a minute or so to look at it then.....immediatley she went to her cash box. Yes he was robbing the teller next to me. As I went to reach for my alarm he looked over at me so I had to pretend that I didn't know anything was going on for fear that if he had a weapon on him he would turn it on me. So once everything was said and done he left in a hurry because I believe he knew that I was aware of what he was doing.

And so the cops came got some prints and someone had the description of the truck that he had got into and hopefully they will get him off the streets soon and get him behind bars! And everyone at work is ok it just shook the teller up and bit so she went home early.

Just figured I would share my day at work with everyone...and please be careful and stay safe with the way things are right now people will do anything they can to get a little cash.

Oh my gosh. That's a pretty exciting day at work (and not in a good way)! It could've been a lot worse, glad nobody was hurt.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.

I hope they get the guy, too! It seems like crime is definately on the rise with the bad economy. Last week I stopped at my usual gas station to fuel up my delivery truck. My guy there always turns the pump on for me without coming in first, and this time he did not. I walked in and he was covered in blood! Just then the police came in and asked me to step out. He had been robbed and beaten. They caught the "perp" right away running away through the neighborhood, with the help of a police dog. The gas station guy is going to be alright, thank goodness.

I agree with you things are starting to get out of hand since the economy started going down which is understandable...it is real scary. Wow I am glad that the guy at the gas station is going to be ok and I am so glad that they caught the guy that did that! Also glad that he had already been in and got out before you had arrived or you could have got hurt as well.

I used to work as a teller at a bank a couple years ago and was the one who got robbed. It was by a man who was probably only in his early 20s and looked like your everyday banker. We were a very busy bank and he waited in line and everything. I was actually closed from a large business deposit and had just put about $4000ish from the deposit out in the safe and opened up to take this guy. He then passes me a note that said "give me all your large bills. no dye pack. i have a gun." I'll never forget what it said but as soon as I read the part that said he had a gun my heart sank. I don't know that he even had a gun but just reading that was scary. I gave him my large bills and set the alarm off and he was out the door. He only got maybe $600 because I had just cleaned out my draw literally 5 seconds before I called him over. But the same the police got there and dusted for prints, took the note, took my prints and later came back with a sheet of pictures for me to see if I could identify him. I don't think he ever got caught though, at least I never heard that he did. It's definitely a scary thing to go through. I pretty much was staring down every person that wasn't a regular that came through the door from then on. And we weren't one of those banks that have the glass seperating us from the customer, just the counter. Very scary and you definitely hear about that kind of stuff much much more now a days. It's terrible.

Yeah it is scary well I mean when the guy came in I had a bad feeling and as soon as he passed her what I figured was a note and I watched her from the corner of my eye going straight to her cash box I knew...and he knew that I knew I'm pretty sure. His note that he passed said that he had a gun and a bomb who knows....but I'm glad they caught him.

But since then I have done what you did as well. Every person that walks into that bank that I do not know...I watch them and I keep my eye on them until I know that everything is okay.
