Distance learning and vet tech

I am thinking about enrolling in a distance learning program to get an associate's degree in vet technology. I've done some research on the AVMA accredited colleges. Purdue is only 20 minutes from me but very expensive. My daughter is going to college in the fall so money will be tight.

I talked to a counselor at San Juan College about their distance learning program and it doesn't sound too bad. She recommended that I start out taking only 2 classes(2 credits each) the first semester. They are much more affordable and have a payment plan.

Once I complete the first tier of the program(which may take me a year) then I would need to find work in a vet clinic to do the practicum portion.

I'm excited but kinda nervous! Has anyone completed a distance learning program similar to this? Feedback please!
