Tell Us About Yourself!
Okay, so I've been a member now for a couple of months (I think?) Through communication with you guys through posts and what not, I always kind of think to myself, I wonder who they are and what their story is?
Anyway, so I decided to do a post where maybe we can all learn a little more about each other than the screenname will say. So tell us about yourself (but only what you want to tell!). And of course, the fact that you love Boxers is a given! If you wanna give a brief history on your furbabies, go right ahead! I know I'd love to read it.
I'll go first (if anyone cares to know )
==========================
My name is Miranda and I live in West Texas, USA (originally from Oklahoma, been here 14 years). I'm 24 years old and have a bf that I've been friends with for 5 years, dating for 10 months and have lived with since mid-December. I work at a law firm as a legal secretary and I love my job. If I wasn't squeamish, I would've gone to school to be a veterinarian.
I grew up around coonhounds and quarter horses (my grandfather bred both) and I could ride a horse before I could walk. When we moved to Texas, though, I didn't get the opportunity to be around horses much anymore; I have missed them since then.
I love animals, movies, music, video games, being outdoors, swimming and fishing. I (usually) am very outgoing and have a huge sense of humor. I love people, love to laugh and be positive!
My first furbaby, Kibbles came to me when I was 13. My aunt, who's a vet in Illinois (where I was visiting at the time), had an older lady bring in two cats (one of which was Kibbles, who was about 1 year old at the time) to have them put down because she said she was getting too old to take care of them. Well, my aunt didn't want to put down to perfectly healthy kitties, so she kept one of them and gave me Kibbles as a Christmas present. He's been with me through everything (good and bad) since then. Kibbles is very sweet, calm and loving.
Gary came to me whenever a friends daughter got a kitten for a Christmas present from her bf in 2005. Well, the bf hadn't asked my friend if her daughter could have the kitten and the dad is allergic to cats, so they asked me if I wanted him. The rest is history. Gary is very rambunctious, playful and a little sh*t sometimes, but I wouldn't have him any other way.
Oscar was adopted from the animal shelter by my boyfriend a couple of years ago and has thoroughly enjoyed his second chance at life! We sure enjoy him. Oscar is very outgoing, loving and eager to please.
And Millie, my sweet little Boxer pup, I got from a breeder about 3 hours away from here earlier this month. I haven't had her long enough to have a big history with her, but that will change. Millie is very playful, outgoing and cuddly! She also loves to be the center of attention!
=========================
Well, that's me and my guys in a nutshell. I'd love to hear about you and yours! Everyone have a great day!!!

Re: Tell Us About Yourself!
Hi Miranda from Margaret in the small town of Longwood in Victoria,Australia.
DH Ray and I have lived here 5 years, and we were given Waldo when he was 2 by one of Ray's workmates, who said Waldo keeps knocking over our new fountain,he has to go!!!He was outside all day in a tiny backyard, and now he's a totally inside dog,the love of our lives PLUS 1 1/2 acres to run around in outside.
I'm a 49 yr old parent educator with a family support agency, and love it,Ray's an engineer. He's my Mr Fixit. We moved to Australia 18 yrs ago from NZ,both our families are still living over there.
Waldo is the 1st Boxer we had met,and now couldn't imagine being owned by any other breed of dog
Hobbies, gardening,Waldo,Books,Waldo,Waldo, love to cook, friends say I have an unusual sense of humour, love to laugh....
No skin kids, just a furbaby, one day Waldo will have a sister.....
That's my story,I'll say goodnight now,as it's almost midnight Aussie time, hooroo.(Need my beauty sleep, don't want to wake up in the morning looking like I've been hit with the ugly stick)

Re: Tell Us About Yourself!
ok, here goes. my name is Meghan, I live in the Dallas, Texas (USA) area, and i'm about to be 26. my fiance Ben and i are getting married in 4 1/2 weeks (who's counting though) and have been together for 5 years. we bought our first house a little over a year ago, so the babies could have a big backyard (and no loud apartment neighbors!). i work for a dermatologist office, and ben works for a BMW dealership about a block away from my office. i'm trying to go to school for nursing (after 2 degrees behind me), but i don't know if i can stomach it when it comes to clinic hours. but we'll see.
about the babies. we have 2 boys, maximus and axle, who are brothers. we got them separately from Ben's mom. axle lived w/her for about 5 mos. until he got big enough that mama-boxer felt her house was in jeopardy! so we've had maximus longer, but they definitely had plenty of playdates, so there was very little *trauma* in axle moving in. they will be 2 on May 8th, and are the absolute love of my life (like everyone else on here ) maximus is laid back, but axle is the "anxious" one. he's ALL OVER the place! he's very pawsy, but he's a snugglebug too, which i love!!
hobbies are probably reading (major Harry Potter fan!), relaxing, and right now, planning the wedding!! we spend almost all of our time with the boys, teaching, training, and playtime! well, that's a bit about me....

Re: Tell Us About Yourself!
Here goes: I am pretty boring though!
I am 26 and DBF Joe and I have been together for almost 4 years and bought our first house about a year and a half ago. We live in Anoka, Minnesota which is a "historic" town, and the house we bought is 115 years old! I love all the character it has! I am still waiting for Joe to pop the question, I am getting impatient!
We got Hazel just over a year ago, and we love her so much! She is spoiled rotten and really has been the best friend anyone could ask for! We also have a 5 month old brussels griffon that we brought home two weeks ago, her name is Munchkin and she and Hazel are getting along pretty well so far!
Well thats about it, and I look forward to learning about everyone else!!!

Re: Tell Us About Yourself!
My name is Katherine and I'm 24, living in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada). I'm a Master's student in Sport Psychology and I'm starting my PhD this September. I'm originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, and moved here two years ago for school. I live with my boyfriend Chad, who's an engineeing draftsman and is the most wonderful, understanding and patient person I will ever meet.
As for my hobbies, I enjoy photography (done a few weddings, portrait stuff, landscapes, etc.), I'm a knitter (yes, it's dorky, but I love it), I spend way too much time on the Internet (especially on this site!) and I also like to read. I'm the type of person who takes on more than I can handle but still manages to get it done, while stressing out the whole time about how much I have to do. I love being busy, but I also love my time to relax and unwind. Chad and I enjoy travelling and we just got back from a trip to Paris where I took way too many pictures.
We've just bought a house and are glad to have a yard for our pup, but we often find ourselves longing for rural life (I grew up on a farm), and once I'm done my PhD we'll probably end up moving out of the city.
We got our boxer Java a few weeks ago from a couple who had bred their own boxers. She now 'plays' with our cat Georgia (I think Georgia is secretly wondering when we'll get rid of the dog) and keeps us thoroughly entertained. We also have two fish, but they're mostly entertainment for the cat.

Re: Tell Us About Yourself!
Ok, here goes nothing:
I'm Jessica, I'm 26 years old and work as a paralegal in a law firm in Lansing, MI. I graduated from college almost 5 years ago (YIKES!!). I bought my first house almost a year ago (April 19) all by myself. It was a very uplifting experience to know that I could do it without anyone's help. This past July I decided to go back and get my Masters in Criminal Justice because I was (and am) beginning to hate my job. In December my grandmother got very ill and I had to take a break from school because it was too hard to juggle work, school, and be at the hospital all the time. Grandma (who I was VERY close with) finally let go 2 weeks ago Monday, after spending a long rollercoaster of a ride in the hospital. She so badly wanted to meet my Roscoe who I brought home mid-January (born 11-28-06). We will miss her dearly
Roscoe has been a rollercoaster ride himself!! Two days after we brought him home he was at the emergency vet because he had an allergic reaction to his food. I consulted BW and switched him to a high quality food and he has been fine since. Then he got kennel cough, had vomiting issues, and now a slight hear murmur. But we love him all the same!!! We also have a orange tiger cat name Pacino (Chino) that isnt really that fond of Roscoe, or at least he tries to act that way...how could you not love a boxer??!!
Dbf and I are looking at adopting a brother for Roscoe from the local boxer rescue. We have passed the initial interview and checks and are now waiting for them to come and do a home visit. We love the idea of having a playmate for Roscoe.

Re: Tell Us About Yourself!
Ok, I'm 26 and living in Grand Rapids, MI. I went to MSU for college and got a bachelor's degree in Social Work (that I'm not using). After college I moved into a duplex with my only sibling, my sister. After almost a year there, my sister found a lump in her breast, and long story short, after an amazing 1.5 year battle with breast cancer, I lost my best friend, my sister, when she just 27 years old in October 2005. That changed me as a person to the core. I look at everything in life very differently now. A few weeks after my sister passed away, I moved to an apartment to live by myself for the first time in my life. I thought I would hate it but I ended up loving it. And once I was settled, I got my Kaybie. She is named after my sister as her initials were K.B., so I turned that into Kaybie. Kaybie kept me from losing my mind after losing my sister. I don't know what I would do without her. After living in the apartment with Kaybie for a little less than a year, I realized how much I wanted her to have a yard to run and play in. So the search for my first house began. This past August, I bought my first house all by myself, and moved in on my sister's birthday. It was a proud moment. During the time I was living at my apartment, through the grapevine, I heard of someone that found an abandonded kitten that was only about 2 weeks old. I got in the car and went and got her that same night. I bottle fed her and took the best care of her that I could. My intention was to foster her until I found her a good home........that was about a year ago......LOL.....and Onyx is still with us and always will be. After all those late night bottle feedings, I got attached and couldn't let her go.......and it didn't help that Kaybie and Onyx were now best friends.....so I couldn't take Onyx away from my Kaybie. So now I am living in my own home with my two furkids and actively looking to add a canine fur-brother to the mix soon. I work for a global engineering firm in their offices and I like my job. I have a boyfriend that I've been with for a little over 2 years and things are going good. He is Kaybie's "Daddy" and her favorite person in the world! Seeing them together melts my heart. So that is my story in a nutshell.
PS
Roscoe'smommy ~ we seem to have a lot in common! =)

We sure do...I lived in GR for 4 years while going to college...I went to GVSU and loved the areas in and around GR. Dbf and I would love to move back there someday, as he lived there for a short time also (not while we were together). We actually were looking (casually) at some houses in Rockford a few weeks ago, as he loves that area and how close it is to all the fishing holes I am so sorry to hear about your sister, I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my only sister (she is 32 now), especially at such a young age. It is times like that in life that make us who we are and make us realize how much we should value our loved ones while they are here

Thank you for your kind words. It's been a rough journey losing my sister, but I have to believe she is somewhere better......otherwise I'll go crazy.
If you guys ever come to the GR, we definitely will have to get together and let our pups play! Rockford is a beautiful area.....I would love to move that direction someday. I was born and raised in GR so it's home. I thought of moving away a few years ago to somewhere warm out west.......but now I don't think I can leave my family that is here. Rockford is a beautiful area.....I would love to move that direction someday.

We go to Ionia a lot, down by Prarie (sp?) Creek dam so dbf can fish and there is a ton of area that the dogs can play. We took Roscoe there one weekend and he had a BLAST!! Although I am leery of letting him off his leash because he isnt good with the recall and just wants to play with everyone!!
