Tennis, anyone?

I am so excited!!! Someone just gave us tickets for tonight to see the Mercedes Benz Tennis tourney at UCLA!!! AND- Andre Aggassi and Andy Rudenek (sp) are scheduled to play !!!! We used to always go to this as Hubby is (used to be) quite a tennis player/nut. But, as things have become fiscally tight for us, this is one of those, well, luxury items that are crossed out of the budget. My previous employer (before coming to work with Hubs) has an extra set of tix for tonight and called to see if we would like them!! She did not know who was scheduled at that time but knows we love that kind of stuff. WOOHOO!

Funny, you never realize what a small jesture that you do/give to someone else can make such a difference to them I asked if she should give them to a customer and she said that she gave away alot of them and thought we would like a pair. It was a simple jesture to her but it means so much to us. Jack is practically dancing in his office and I even get to leave work early to spend time with Junior before we go!!!

The moral of the story- when you drop a pebble of kindness in the pond of life, the ripple effect is amazing

Cool Enjoy!

We hope you have a fabulous time Elizabeth. I'm not really into tennis but I'm sure for people who are it must be amazing tickets. My parents had signed me up for tennis classes when I was in high school and I had fun but never really pursue it. Where we live we have tennis courts as part of the association but I haven't tried it yet. I don't think I'd do really well anyway. I did tell jason my little boy that I would buy us some tennis raquets so he and I could play. With him I can't make a toatl fool of myself and have a blast.
You're absolutely right about what you said though. I agree a small gesture to someone can be huge to someone else.
You guys have a wonderful time.

How was the tennis?

You know you can't just tell us about the great time you are going to have and then not come back and give us details!!

Well, "Murphy's Law" applied a bit
When I got home our whole culdesac was full of cars and it turned out our neighbors dad had died. One of our cars was in the shop over the weekend (I park in the garage) so since they did not see the jeep thought we were gone for the weekend and did not tell us

So, we ended up being over there, running very late and missed Agassi all together BUT- the Safin v. Ruddick was awesome! We were right down front in the center of the court and WOW they serve soooo fast!

Weather was perfect too. Afterwards we went to a place for pizza that actually brings the water in from New York City to make the dough, so it truly tastes like NY pizza mmmmmmmm

There was a massive accident on the freeway (at 11:30 pm - go figure) so we snuck around in brentwood (GO OJ land ) and were able to snake up the hill avoiding the freeway.

Overall it was very nice and hubs was thrilled. He already is looking forward to playing this weekend and hey- I just may pick my racquet up again! That is if Junior will give me back any of his precious tennis balls

Thanks for asking !!

Sounds like an eventful day. Sometimes the buildup and the getting there and back again ends up being an adventure all on it's own
