What a start
I went to work after our appointment today since nothing was happening. Came home to Chloe panting, shaking, and a questionable spot on the bed(so much for having husband watch her) No contractions were noticeable, so called the vet, he said give oxytocin. Nothing happened so in we went.
Got her on the table and open and these two HUGE puppies were at the Y fighting over who got to come out first. We don't think they would have ever come out. Got them all out, there were 8, so much for the money I spent on an x-ray, and worked to get them all going. Kind of scary situation, they just hung there limp. We got them all going and then Chloe had some complications. She was pretty anemic and her blood proteins were low. She just gave them everything she had. We tried giving her plasma, but it didn't bring it up enough so the vet thought she should go to the ER where she could be carefully monitored. I dropped her there and the puppies came home with me. I talked to them a few minutes ago and she was coming around, I can pick her up ~7:00. I will be much better once she is home.
Anyway, we have 7 girls and 1 boy. Its actually an awesome looking litter. We have 3 flashy fawn girls and 2 flashy brindle girls and 1 semi-flashy fawn girl and 1 white girl with an eye patch. The one boy is white with an eye patch. I'm not real sure what average weights are, but my smallest one is over 16 oz. They sure are hard to weigh wiggling like the do! Everybody ate, peed, burped, pooped and settled in. They are starting to stir again so I will feed again soon.
