I would have more concerns regarding the other clinics/vets you visited before that found him to be perfectly sound. Before we got SuzyQ we had 2 german shepherds, both males. They were both healthy and didn't make any unusual trips to the vets, other than their shots etc and I clearly remember the vet checking both to make sure their testicles had descended. They had to be very young when she checked them as they were both neutered close to six months old. This was a new vet for us and she said that was one of the major things that they always checked any male dogs for, in order to prevent health problems later. I don't think I would take him back to those places.

Both of Skye's parents were finished (champions), well bred, no health problems (both health tested), great temperaments, etc etc and he was cryptorchid, so I'm sure it happens. He also went through a "spay" type of neuter. Now 4+years later he's perfectly healthy, happy and no problems.
