Smile Can someone answer please...

i was wondering if it is true if you breed two boxers that are flashy boxers if you get white pups i have seen alot of people say this. My cousin has two flashy boxers and everytime they breed she throws two white pups so far none have been deaf or blind. My female is due in a week and she is semi-flashy and my male is really flashy fawn and white is there a chance that there will be white pups. Just curious. Any help will be appreciated.

If you breed two flashy boxers together you will probably get white puppies. Usually 25-30% will be white.

Rather than go into a protracted reply on this, and it would be protracted LOL I'll direct you to the following website which explains well coat colour genetics in the boxer

http://frontpage.lightspeed.net/bixl/color.htm

Also if you post pictures of the parents of your expected litter I'd be able to give you an idea of what you might expect

Smile Well i would post pictures

but i dont have a scanner yet. and i say yet because its going to be soon. Anyways i can tell you what they look like but i dont know if that would be enough. She is brindle she has white on her face and whiteon her chest and around the sides of her neck not all the way around white all the way down her belly. He is fawn and white with white all over his face he has almost a whole white color around his neck. He has white socks so does she front and back on him and front and halfway on back on her. He has white chest white stomache and white up the inner part of his legs. Dont know if this will help couldnt get my computer to log on the that website you gave me.

From your description I'd say your bitch is actually flashy rather than semi flashy and that you can reasonably expect her to deliver some white puppies. Remember these things are governed by probability and probability is not set in stone :-)

There have been many flashy/flashy matings that have produced no whites in the litter but over many litters in a great population the figures will ring true

Here's another site to try

Smile Thanks for the information

it really did help and explained things a little bit better. I would love to have a white one that i could keep but who knows if she doesnt have any white ones i will just be happy having healthy pups. Thanks again for the advice and good websites.

A flashy dog is a dog that has a fair bit of white on them. A plain dog is a dog that is mostly one colour either brindle or fawn and has limited amounts of white on them. A flashy has white on the head, legs and neck etc, but still has less than one third body white. A flashy dog is what people mostly use in the show ring because it is nier to look at! Not that the plains are not nice, Flashy stands out more.
