Smile How should I introduce the dog and kids

Hi there! I have another question! As some of you know already I am leaving for Nashville on Thursday to go and get our new baby, Maggie. I can't wait. She is a rescue and she is 3. You guys have given me great confidence that she will adjust well, but, how should make sure that the introduction is not overcome by too much excitment from her and the kids. I want them both to have the relationship that I have heard alot of you describe of your boxer baby andf your skin babies. My skin babies are 1 and 2.

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

Wink Kids first

Maggie has a handler she is use to, let the kids acompany the handler then you come in a couple minutes latter, everything will be fine, give maggie treats and spoil her rotten, life is good with a boxer. I didn't know how Lt would act with kids but the neighbors let me know he was wonderful with her boys one afternoon when I got home from work. Her boys are 1.5, 3, and 6 yrs old. Also the breeder I got Justice from brought her newbon over, put the baby in the floor and Justice laid right beside him for most of the visit. I've never heard of a boxer having a problem with a baby or young child. Hope this helps ease your mind.

Introduce them slowly

I would think that it is going to be a big move for Maggie, so I would go at Maggie's pace. She's going to have a big adjustment so I would go easy. I agree with deesboxers about having the handler help you introduce the kids. When we got our first boxer baby my kids were 2 and 4 and my 2 yr old was unable to communicate properly. The fact that Maggie is older should help matters, we brought home a puppy. ( She confused my youngest for a littlermate and caused lots of problems.) We recently brought home another baby and at 3 an 5 they do much better. Well anyway good luck with the new edition and congrats!!!!
