Question Introduction to a 2 year old skin kid

We are about to adopt a 3 year old boxer who has lived with kids her whole life. Our 2 year old daugher has not lived with a dog since she was a year old. At that time she sat near Jade and hugged and kissed her. After she passed, Elana looked around for her. Now she loves dogs but has some apprehention and takes a little while to get use to them. How can we help ease the apprehention? We will be visiting the boxer we are going to adopt this week and Elana will be with us. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks

It was really hard for my youngest son , when our first boxer died. How do you feel about lieing to your child? If you can this is what I did, I told them the BAiley are new boy wasn't going to die. Gage my son was 2 at the time. They are the best of friends now. Let her and the dog spend sometime togeater alone, but where you can still see them ,but where she can't see you. I hope this helps.

Our neice had been bitten by a dog when she was pretty little. Ever since then she has been afraid of all dogs. When we got Tucker (of course he was a small pup then), we had her come over to meet him so she could see that not all dogs are mean. Now that Tucker is bigger, she was a little bit more apprehensive around him, but he's SO GOOD with kids that we just let them be and pretty soon they were fast friends.

I'd have faith in your new boxer. I'm sure s/he'll get your daughter to come around better than anybody else probably.

Good luck and we can't wait to hear more about your new adopted boxer!

You can read My post "Biting Greta" under boxers and children. My son is also 2 but maybe it will make a difference since you are adopting a adult not a pup. Alot of other boxer owners have great child -dog relationships I don't know what our problem is.Good luck!
