I am a volunteer with our local boxer rescue and we are a foster home. I have a boxer right now that came from a similar situation. The parents made the choice that it would be better for all concerned if the dog found a new home. We actually made the decision to adopt this dog because he was well loved by our whole family. Our youngest is 8 and Max seems to get along fine with him so I am not worried. Max does have a fear/distrust of strangers though and this will take some time to work through. I guess I'm just trying to say that there are people and rescues out there that are willing to take in a dog with a bite history. It sounds like in your case your dog would do fine in a house without children and there are plenty of people wanting to adopt dogs that don't have children. Good luck and don't give up hope!

You are quite right. I guess when you start discussing something you forget about what the original topic was, and that's a topic that could go back and forth forever with differing opinions. Sorry for getting off track.

To the OP, I hope you find a good home for your boxer, and I'm so sorry you have to make that decision. Good luck and keep us posted.
