I am so glad things went well at your sisters. When we got Tyson, we took him to Mike's sister's house. She is afraid of big dogs. Needless to say, she loves Tyson, plays somewhat with him too. She reguards him as part of our family.
She and her husband have a large family (8 kids) with about 10 grandkids. They have been around Tyson since we got him. He is great with them all. Imagine him trying to play with 10 little kids all at once!!
I think people see the size and think that they are a mean dog and the opposite is true.
Perhaps your sister will come to see Kevin as not "just a dog" but a part of the family. As he grows, she will see how they become protective of their family and feel assured that nothing will happen to the kids on Kevin's watch.
Just slowly introduce Kevin to her, and she may have a change of heart.
