Unhappy Schedule?

My 4 month old pup gets wound up so much at night she is waking up my baby. Her schedule is as follows. 6:30 AM feed. 7:15 15 -30 minute walk. (Is this too long?) When we get in from walk she usually lays around till about 2 PM. 3 PM eats again & She has another walk between 6 -7. Then when I put my baby to bed around 7 30 she gets SOOO hyper & barks & runs around the entire house like a maniac. I have no idea why she is doing this. Any suggestions?

how old is baby?? our son is 19 months and Jasper will be 8 weeks soon.... the only changes we've had to make is that we'll close our sons door so he has a harder time hearing jasper if he barks, and any time he gets worked up and is running around like that we will focus our attention on him and play with him until he gets tired (usually 15-20 minutes of nonstop action) after that he seems pretty calm.. just sounds like your dog is overly excited and needs to burn off the energy

Are you able to go into the garden and play with your pup for a while to tire her out while your baby is sleeping?

We had problems with Kilby being absolutely manic most of the night... 9 times out of 10 it was because she was overtired. I used to physically hold her, she'd kick and try and squirm away but I'd continue to hold her and in about 5 mins she'd be snoring like a log!!

It's also possible that she might just need some playtime to stimulate her mind a bit. Our girls have always loved playing hide and seek with their toys. Does she eat after her evening walk? You could always give her a meal after that walk but put it in a kong or something so she has to work to get the food and at the same time the chewing naturally relaxes them.

My two seem to have a lot of energy in the early late evening too...this seems to be their favorite time to play...
I have to say that my boxers are not barkers for whatever reason they just never have been (unless they see someone walking in front of my house!)...They love to go outside and just run chase each other and do their boxer wrestling growling thing....
I remember reading somewhere that this behavior of being so active at this time of day, is a boxer, dog trait...
Good luck!!

Thanks for the responses. The baby just turned a year & we do close the door but unfortunately for me he is a very light sleeper. It's weird because Bella isn't really a barker until she gets wound up. I believe she may be overly tired. I will try suggestions. Thanks again!~
