I need to rent a child for Oscar.

I am just kidding. But Oscar so loves kids he follows them around everywhere. When my nieces or nephews are over they can't even go to the bathroom without him whining outside the door. When there are children at the petstore he is beaning as soon as he hears or sees them. I have read how good boxers are with children but I am still amazed how much he loves them. I think he would take a kid over a toy any day of the week. I have been tempted to ask to neighborhood kids that knock on my door to mow my lawn if I give them a few bucks will the play with Oscar in the yard for a 20 minutes. LOL

i am closer!

lol ... you can have my 5 year old for awhile. he'll cure oscar of his love for children! j/k ...

that is so cute, isn't it? bettis loves my baby girl ... she is 15 months and he is just great with her. just tonight he was out running around and when he was done he flopped himself on the ground and she went over and sat next to him and was petting him : ) it was a cute moment.

now, my five year old, on the other hand ... bettis just plays too hard with him ... so we have to try to keep them apart. we are *working* on getting them to play nice together ... but are having issues!!!

When we got Chevy he was very shy, which is odd for a boxer. But everytime there was a child he would completely relax. Now both Chevy and Louie love kids. Our neighbours have two kids and I called them over the other day because we were going out for the night so I wanted to tire them out before dropping them off at my parents house. They played for about an hour and then they slept most of the time at my parents.

I have two that you can HAVE..you don't even have to "rent" them ...what do you say to a 13 1/2 yr old girl and/or a 4 1/2 yr old girl?? They'll give him a run for his money AND make it so that YOU will never have s*x again to prevent any babies

I think Boxers in general love kids..all ages..all sizes..and yes..even all temperments.

(I Kid..I love my daughters to death and cannot imagine my life without them )

Thank you all for the offers to lend out your children. But I must decline because I don't have children of my own because they are so much work, they are not as appreciative of a warm couch to lay on and a bone. And I can't guarantee they will be returned in one piece. I do dogs well but children are a bit iffy. LOL

Since my teenage son is in danger of this in my house as well, I really dont see the problem.

I do feel your pain though! My kaite will cry at the window if there are kids playing outside. she so wants to play, but is too rough with them.

Oh well....... Good luck on your rental search

Thumbs up

Every dog should have the chance to play with a kid whenever possible. Seems to me that it would be a win-win to have the lawn mowing boys play with Oscar every now and then. Never have seen the boy yet (no matter what his age) that doesn't melt when a dog wants to play with him.

When we had Rocky, the garbagemen used to ask if he could come out and play. It's true, they would take their lunch break in front of our house, the kids would sit on the porch and the big, scary men would play and wrestle with out boxer. Too funny!

By all means, give the lawn kids a soda and let them tire out Oscar. You may very well get a thank you note from their mom.

Boxers LOVE children!!

You know whats funny? My husband has three sons, and all three live with us. They range from 3 - 12 years old, and Matilda just LOVES them to death. She can't get enough of kids! When she plays with them though, its almost like she knows the exact roughness she can play with them. With the youngest, she'll lick all over him and chase him just a bit.. but with the oldest, they'll tackle each other, run into each other, etc. But wow, does she ever love kids. I remember at PetSmart one time while I was checking out, I turned around... and 5 kids were just hanging all over her, and she was LOVING every second of it!

I won't offer you my kids though.. I'd make everyone else who offered ahead of me mad
