Bear in mind too that a very different 'effect' is created by the way in which dogs are stacked (posed) for photos. Most European websites will feature their dogs in a stance with the rear legs well behind the body and the dog straining forward, which is designed to accentuate the impression of strength (especially of the dog's forequaters). Most NA websites feature their dogs in more of a squarely placed stack with head and tail held upward by the handler, which is designed to give the dog a square and straight-backed appearance, and to enhance the appearance of elegance. Photograph both dogs in a more 'natural' stance (or just the same stance), and they will appear far less different
