Is She Tiny or What?
Our neighbor has a male boxer about ten pounds heavier than Bella, but three days younger, Bella was born 10/7/07 and neutered prior to her first heat.
She is barrel chested (do you know what I mean), long legged, but it seems that she is below standard size for her age, she is definitely purebred, records are valid AKC, good breeder, but, she is only about 35 pounds at 9 months of age, I don't care, but just want to know if this is normal for her circumstances???? She is very healthy and full of spunk.
She's my first Boxer, even though my grandpop (long deceased) raised them, she's beautiful, but my husband and kids tease me that she is not growing.
Please advise. Thank you.

I believe the standard for females is 55-60 lbs, she may just end up on the lower end. or she may just have a growth spurt and surprise everyone. My Minx is only about 56-57 lbs, but she is so solid, even at eight years old. I would not worry about it too much as long as she is healthy and happy.

I had a tiny girl too...
My girl Grumpy was tiny too, I don't remember exactly what she weighed at nine months but it was definitely less than 40 lbs. At one year she weighed 42.
She kept growing, pretty steadily - both getting taller and filling out - until she was 18 months, and at 2 years now, she's still on the short side, but not by much. And she weighs 55 lbs, which is smaller than most females I have met but right on target for the breed standard.
As long as your little girl is healthy I wouldn't worry at all... she may just be taking her time growing up!
And I totally agree with guyco... I'm very happy to have a smallish boxer, I can still pick Grumpy up and carry her

My boy is tiny too... I know you have a female so can't truly compare, but at 16 months old my boy is just 46 lbs. He is not malnourished, although the vet usually says he could stand to gain a couple of pounds, she is never concerned for his health. I know they fill out until they are 18 to 24 months old, but I have serious doubts that my boy will ever get to the breed standard size for males LOL You girl could just be small... it does happen, although here in the USA most boxers are much larger than the standard, rather than smaller... but it can happen the other way around

No worries as long as she's eating well and healthy
My girl is almost 21 months and she has been a steady 48 lbs for about a year now. She is actually at the "breed max" height of 24 in. though, so as you can imagine, she has like 0% body fat; all skin, bone and MUSCLE, but the vet says she looks great - you can easily feel her ribs, and when looking down on her from above her waist goes in from the chest and hips.

Thank you all so much!
I feel better now!
Bella isn't skinny, she is short in stature, but solid like a rock!
She has a "barrell" chest and a thin wasteline, but my boys and my husband keep teasing me and telling me she's not growing!
I forgot that puppies grow until age 2, Simon is 12, it's been a long time!
It would never matter to me if she was under or over standard size, she's a pet, not a show dog, but I was concerned.
You're right!
She's HAPPY and Healthy, and right now doing a 2 a.m. Burn!
Thank you again!
I love this forum, you really can find peace of mind and comradery.

Abby is 21 months - she only weighs 47lbs. I feed her a ton, but she is super skinny.
