Have been tracking this story every day hoping for a positive outcome! Teared up when I read the good news! Those pictures were so disgusting and to think that woman thought he looked good! Now there is someone who need some psychological help!!
I wonder if they will investigate her other animals as well? I worry that if she was treating her boxer like this that she may have other pets in danger as well!
Congratulations! Would love to hear updates on Bailey in the future! You are a truly amazing person! HOORAY!!!

Such wonderful news. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Most people would not want to get involved. Not only did you get involved, you have saved this dog's life! Keep us posted if you find out any updates later on (weight gain, if she stayed with the AC officer etc).
JOB WELL DONE!

Good job! However are you going to double check that the officer is going to keep the dog? If atleast help find a good home for the poor baby. I am so happy that this was a happy ending. There needs to be more people like us who help.

I've been anxiously waiting for an update and am so glad to hear that Bailey has finally been taken away from that neglectful owner. Good for you for following through with animal control ~ Cathy

I too have followed this thread since the original post, but have yet to be brave enough to view the photos. I get the idea by everyone's reactions so no need to torment myself by looking at them. You might want to keep copies of the photos for future referance to this case if it were to go to court, plus if she were to treat a future dog the same way you can use that as proof that she isn't a fit owner. I want to say thank you for supporting Bailey and fighting so hard to give him a proper home where some people would have given up rather than the owner knowing who turned her in (and IMO who cares what she thinks). Maybe this lady will think twice about abusing an animal again and will change her ways. I think play dates are definately in order with Bailey and his new mom. If things don't work out then maybe she'd give you the first choice on taking him.

Im so happy you persued this to its fullest. Kudos to you, you should be very proud of yourself, you could potentially have saved this baby's life. Will animal control keep you updated on what happens with her (the woman)? or is it a done deal with you. I cant help but wonder why none of the other people from the horse stable wouldnt have called animal control on her when they obviously knew something was up if they were sneaking him some food. He'll be in a good home now with another boxer baby and will get spoiled like all boxers do

My boys play lots and gain/lose weight pretty easy based on their activty level over a few days and generally are very active and thus are lean. There are times that my youngest has his hips slightly visable and are over all lean BUT my boys look fatty-fat-fat compared to those pictures! There is one thing to keep dogs thin but that is starving-it looked like he had no muscle mass on his back and butt area!
I commend you on the action that you took...it takes guts!
Good job!
Katie
