Super Day at the Dog Park!!
I take Boomer to the dog park every weekend and he loves it. Lately there have been issues, not with dogs but with people. I just stay out of them but it gets kinda of annoyin. Why cant people just enjoy their time with their dogs?? Anyway... on Sunday we went and we were playing with a soccer ball when another boxer showed up. She was 4 months and and just as cute as could be. Then a little while later another boxer showed up he was a year old, just like Boomer. They were all running around like maniacs and snarling and carrying on like wild animals Then a woman and her husband showed up with TWO boxers. A girl who was alos a year and a male who was 8 years old. It was craziness. Paws and wiggles everywhere Well we left there so tuckered out and had to stop by the store to get some food and prehaps a bully stick or two. I came around the corner and what did I see??? Yup another boxer, a female shes was 4 months. Crazy crazy day I tell ya!!!!

It is good to finally hear something postive about a dog park. I was beginning to think they weren't worth the trouble and not go when ours opens..THANK YOU for sharing

I could have written the exact same thing! Good to hear a nice dog park story! And I'm totally jealous of seeing all of those boxers.

I know how you feel, our experiences as of late have been crummy ones. It's never the dogs aleays the owners they dont follow the rules, they dont watch their dogs, and I think its ridiculous. Now we go earlier in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. Later in the day its too crowded and it makes me uncomfortable because when it gets like that innocent play can turn into something else. My tips to everyone that is unsure about the dog parks is too go first and check it out, then if your comfortable bring your dog next time.

Really? I like the little one we go to. Is that the one where you have bad experiences?
We had 1 bad experience at a park that requires permit, but the owner left with his dog immediately after she misbehaved. She was a boxer too! I've never had a bad experience other than that one, but I don't go often, either.

at the little one we go to, a guy brought an intact male in the decided he was going to eat nikos face. also the one on black road we went there before we knew it was permit only right after we got there and shepard attacked Niko when the police came the informed us the we needed a permit and would have to leave.
there have been a few little dogs at the little park we go to that thought they would try to eat Niko to but he has grown accustom to pretty much ignoring them.
like i said i love the little park except alot of the times there arent too many if any big dogs there.

I am still debaating on whether or not I want to take Duchess there.... When I first adopted her from the breeder, I found out she was in heat but before I knew this, I took her to the doggie park and she was not very playful nor did she want anything to do with the other dogs there. Ever since she got spayed, she has wanted to say hi and play with every dog we see on our walks. I have a feeling she was crabby when I took her because she was starting to go into season. Thank heavens there were no intact males there and since she didn't want to play or be bothered, we left right away.
