Why can't they stay puppies? Long
Ok ,Oscar is now 6 months old and weighs about 45 lbs. I look at him and I am in love. But why can't he just stay a puppy. I already miss picking him up, and kissing him up. I still kiss him up but he gets annoyed sometimes like "Mom leave me alone". He is my first puppy ever. Growing up we always got our pets from shelters as adults, and my mother had a friend that showed and breed pugs and brussel griffons and my mom would take them in after they retired. Besides occasional visits to stud the dogs out, for all other purposes they were our pets. So I never have had a puppy until now. I made a rule for myself not to get another puppy until Oscar is 2 and my 16 year old cat is hanging in heaven with my mom. I think the next puppy will be a French bulldog, I think they are cute and seem to have huge attitude, which i love. Look at me I am already thinking about my next puppy. I know that Oscar is still a puppy but I miss when he was small. I wish I had taken more pictures. Does anyone else miss those puppy days?

Well Lady is almost 4 months and she is almost getting too big for me to pick her up. I miss that part already!! Instead of giving me kisses she likes to bite now. I am really going to miss her puppy stage, but I also can't wait until she gets older and perfects the whole "house breaking thing" She is still kind of confused. But you gotta Love them

Well Pimp is 17 weeks today. I can't believe how much he has grown already. I remember he could even walk down a step now he flies down them. I miss him being little but it is also nice to be able to sleep through the night!!!!!! Plus now he is not as fragile. He likes to play.

I know what you mean!! Ty is so stinking cute as a puppy-I wish I could freeze him like this. I, too always rescued older dogs before Tyler and was nervous about dealing with all the puppy stuff. I have to say, though, it's been so much easier than I thought. The potty training is a bit time consuming, but these boxers are so smart they make it pretty simple for us humans! I feel the same way about my 3 year old daughter-I wish I could keep her as a toddler, it's such a sweet time!

I say to Indy every morning "did you grow while I was sleeping"? It amazes me how quickly they grow. I cried the day I looked at him and he looked like a dog and not my little puppy boy! I don't miss the 2am potties!

I love that Trinity is so small and cute and sweet right now, but BOY do I miss sleeping through the night. If she could stay small and be housebroken, then that would be great. Last night, I woke up about 2 am and thought I saw her getting ready to pee in the bed. I jumped up and grabbed her..or who I thought was her..and took off down the hall. I finally woke up a little more and realized that I had one of the cats in my arms. When I got back to bed, she was sleeping peacefully with her daddy and Brutus was looking at me like I was crazy. Then, about 3 am, she woke up and had to go out. I'm so tired today.

Ares is a little over 3 months now and boy do I miss when she was tiny! Now she sits in my lap when im on the computer and tries to lay down but my lap is not big enough anymore and she still tries to lay there. Not to mention she can now get on the furniture and on the waterbeds. I wish she would stay small but the fun begins when they are bigger and can play more games like tug a war without thinking your gonna pull a tooth out.

Beau was 9 months when I got him, so I didn't know him as a puppy. However, he is still just a big baby. He's a total mommy's boy and I love every minute of it. I'm sure he was an adorable puppy, but I'm too lucky to have him to dwell on the fact that I didn't know him as a puppy.

My Sandy is 4 years old and still very much a puppy. She still sits on you, climbs on your lap, looks at you with those big eyes, jumps and plays all the time. The only thing old about her is her little gray muzzle.
Luckily, boxers don't grow up. They keep that little puppy attitude.
