Well we have a permanent bed bug.......

Well Lucian has been sleeping with us in our bed for 3 nights now and we decided to keep it that way. He sleeps the whole night with us and never wakes up to go potty! I was amazed by this, considering he needed to go 2-3 times a night when we tried his crate and he would whine and cry and freak out all night, he hated his crate at night, but will go in it during the day. I think its funny since hubby didn't want him in the bed but now that he is here allows it. Hubby also didnt want him on the couch but that is where he is alot of the time, lol.
We went to a playday for my kids yesterday and Lucian had sooo much fun! All the kids loooved him and the moms did too. The house we went to has goat, ducks, chickens, and rabbits (not to mention all the kiddies playing) so I think it is a great socialization place. We go there every two weeks. He did pretty well in the car on the way there and back, no car sickness. Those kids sure wore him out though. They have a merry-go-round there and when all the kids would be on it going round and round he would run around with it following them, it was so funny! After we were there for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours he finally got tired and had some water and food then went under the chair I was sitting on and went to sleep in the shade of the chair. I know he had lots of fun, and he did SO good with all the kids! I was so proud of him. Anyway just thought I would update on how we are doing.

Your hubby sounds like my hubby. Indy was not allowed on the furniture or the bed. That lasted 2 nights. He's been in the bed ever since and slept thru the night. Indy likes the nights that daddy has to work all night so he can sleep with me at night and with daddy all day long. What a life. I want to be a boxer in my next life!

My 8 month old sleeps with us every night and has since we brought her home! It is so funny because she can sleep 8 or 9 hours a night, but during the day she has to go outside every 30-45 minutes. My boyfriend used to tell me that Calla was not sleeping with us----we are now purchasing a king size bed to replace our queen!

Our Boxer, Isis lets us sleep in the bed most nights, and even share the sofa with her!

I have to say I'm glad the dogs don't sleep with us anymore. We have a king size bed, but it was getting so uncomfortable to have to stay in one position because two boxers were planted on top of the covers so you couldn't move. OR when dh got home from work at 2:00 - 3:00am he would end up sleeping on a couch because there was no room for him (Hilda won't move when she's comfortable). They started sleeping on their beds on the bedroom floor or out in the living room or on the couches on their own. I hope they don't want to migrate back to the bed, but if they do; we'll deal with it.

They do end up in bed with dh after I get up to get ready for work. It's like a ritual for them.

Talking Our bed...

Is a queen size and we have the really nice pillow top on it too. We moved in to this house on April 1st and bought our new matress at the same time too. This morning I woke up to my two youngest skinkids in the bed and Lucian curled up next to my youngest, is was so cute but very uncomfortable, lol. Lucian sleeps under the covers with me on my side of the bed. I had in the middle of my hubby and me but DH couldn't handle that, he wanted to be next to me too, lol.

Isn't it funny how dads have a change of heart. My hubby was the same way, no dogs on the bed or on the coach. Well now both dogs are allowed on the bed and on the coach. He loves it.

We also have a queen so it can get pretty cozy with us and the two dogs, luckily our Dalmatian usually only gets up there in the mornings, but Koda he's up and down all night. But I love it! My husband gets jealous because Koda usually sleeps on my side of the bed in between my legs.

And man is Koda a cover hog, he loves to have all the covers. Cracks me up!

Smile

I could not imagine sleeping with two!!! One is bad enough with the snoring, sleeping on top of the covers and sleeping with all four legs stretched out straight trying her best to push me off. How do you sleep with two? That is amazing!!

We lived for a couple of years with hubby, me, Bubby (80 pounds) and Babs (55 pounds) in a full size bed. Once you got straight you didn't/couldn't move for the night. We bought a king sized bed for the comfort of our dogs because hubby and I still got the same amount of room, very little!
