Another furbaby?(long-sorry)

Hi everyone-for those of you who have not read my posts, here's a quick summary. We rescued 4 month old Indy about 3 weeks ago at a nearby shelter. Things are going great with her-she is an amazing dog! Well, DH has been talking about getting another boxer for the last week or two. So, tonight we were looking at some of the local shelters on the computer, and there's a young, male classic fawn named Turk who's looking for a home. OMG is he CUTE!! Indy is a female, so it's my understanding that you should get the opposite sex-is that correct? We tried calling the shelter, but they won't be in until Monday. I would love some input on adding a second dog to the home-should we wait, and give Indy more time alone with us, or is it easier to have them grow up together? Indy LOVES other dogs and the brief summary on Turk said that he loves other dogs, as well. I have never had more than one dog at a time, so I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks for your time!!

We used to have two Boxers, a male and a female. When the female was two yrs old, we adpoted the one year old male. At first, she was a bit "put out" because she had always been the baby, but after a few days, they were the best of friends I think if you had two Boxer doggies growing up together, it would be really great for both of them. I really wish I could convince my DH to get a second Boxer baby How exciting for you! Good luck on Monday and let us know how it goes!

Thumbs up

I have 2 puppies, now almost 10 months and 6 months and absolutely love it. the only drawback was that instead of wanted to play with you all the time, they want to play with eachother. which is also a good thing to. If you are still house training, it does get a little tougher but mine never had to go potty at the same time, so only one would go outside, and by the time I got back in the other had to go and I was too late. so if you do get 2, bring them both outside at the same time to go potty, less accidents that way. oh yeah, and they will want to play non stop for the next...well its been 4 months now at my house, so the house isnt as quiet anymore but I love it. keep us posted
