Joe busted out of his crate yesterday and destroyed parts of my apartment and darn near could have killed himself. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach yesterday that something was wrong. I raced home after work and found that I could not get in my apartment. The top dead bolt that can only be locked from the inside was LOCKED! We are on the second floor and the only way in is through that door. So we had to bust in the door and destroyed the door jam and frame in the process. Yes Joe had gotten out and while jumping at the door managed to lock it. I then found my crystal on the floor (luckily not broken) and potpouri spread everywhere. I raced in and could not find Joe and was in a panic seeing as how I did not hear a sound from him. I ran to my bedroom door which was closed (I usually close it so thought I had done so at lunch)and something was laying in front of it and it was hard to get open. Joe had managed to knock my lamp off of the table (it is made out of an old time sewing machine and it is heavy). Once I got in there I found him twisted all up in my blinds. They were wrapped all around him and he could not get out. I quickly got him untangled and just hugged him forever. He was so shaken up and stressed out. I am just glad the blinds were not around his neck. Once I surveyed the damage I now have to replace three sets of blinds and one door frame/jam. I got the carpet clean (pee and poop all in my room) but most important of all my baby is okay. A little stressed out, but okay. Needless to say I boarded him today and probably will until school lets out at then end of May when my oldest son can take care of him most of the time. I will have to figure out the rest from there.

Oh you poor thing - and of course poor Joe too.

I remember when Billy was a puppy, we used to shut him in the kitchen when we went out. One day we got back to find he had tipped over the dustbin (all kinds of yucky food and babies nappies etc!!!), tipped over his food bucket, pooed and weeed in all of it and generally mixed it all up together !!!!!!YUK!!!!!!! NOT

But at least it was contained in one room.

I hope you get something sorted out so that he doesn't have to stay in the boarding kennels too long.

I am releived that no real harm was done to my JoJo. The apartment can be fixed, but if anything bad had happened to him I would just have died.

Sandy...I love the Taz....that is certainly him!

that is just amazing that he did not get hurt! You just wonder what they are thinking when they get into all this stuff. I know I have come home to some messes with my girl but nothing like that. Good luck!
