Mobile Pet Salon

We had the neatest experience today! I found a mobile pet salon in our area and they came out this morning to groom the crew. We have to keep Dusty groomed but Lexi and Baxter, what little they need, is usually done at home. Since they were coming out to do Dusty, I asked them about Lex and Bax. I was surprised to hear how many people actually do have their boxers groomed. Just for fun, I decided to try it. They all loved it Has anyone ever used a mobile pet salon? It was interesting. The mobile pet salon is about 22' long. They have everything inside they need. They use their own water and their own electricity. The groomers were very knowledgable and helpful, all the kids look fantastic. The main lady keeps current with her certificates and attends a lot of different conferences. I forget how many hairdo's can be done on different breeds. I was extremely impressed with the kids nails. The groomers dremmeled their nails so short that they don't click on the hard wood floor. I have yet to be able to master that. That in itself is worth it It's more expensive than your traditional groomers but it's a lot more convenient. We used to have to drop Dusty off for the whole day at the groomers. The mobile salon arrived at 8:40 a.m. this morning and the kids were done by 10:30 a.m. I didn't have to leave home and nobody had to stress about being at the groomers cooped up all day long! They feel and smell terrific. If you have a service like this in your area and need to have your dogs groomed on occasion, I highly recommend this option

In Colorado we had something similar but it was a grooming/vet station setup. They would give vaccinations and did grooming inside their little trailer. It was really cool!

Wow, thanks for the tip. I have seen them listed in our phone book and often wondered about it. We have slacked off, usually we would take Ginger just twice a year for a bath, nails clips, etc. Well, it is hard to find time on the weekends and Ginger gets stressed out in the car. I may give it a try, it would be great having someone come here. I thought about washing her myself but I am afraid it will turn into a diseaster.
Glad your babies are all nice & clean now.

I always get Mason groomed. We have glass doors on our shower/tub and I don't want to take the chance of him ( or me) getting hurt. I am going to see if there is one of those in my area, it sounds fantastic!!!

Mason loves to be groomed. He always gets a bandanna and prances around as if saying " I AM handsome, aren't I"

Crayolita, that's too bad that they don't offer the service in your area. Have you checked online? There may be one in a surrounding area--I don't know how far they travel.

Denver, we have a mobile vet in a surrounding area but they do not service my county unfortunantly. I thought that was a great idea, this vet also does surgeries in their mobile unit! Back to the days of housecalls, wouldn't that be great

Jean, how fun Yes, the groomers are avid dog lovers which makes the experience just that much better! It was nice to have them groomed and NOT stressed out. I can see why you look foward to grooming days.

Linda, I would recommend definantly looking into the service. It's so neat. There's nothing like having your dogs groomed right in your own driveway Dusty doesn't do well in the car either, this was a perfect solution for us.

Leah, my guys loved their bandanas today. Dusty doesn't like it when I take hers off They got St. Patty's day bandanas today, they looked so cute. I wish you guys could have seen Baxter strutting his stuff--he'd never been groomed before

We unfortunately live in a city where our dogs are forgotten, we barely have a "dog" park.

So how do you fancy a career change? There is obviously a gap in the market in your area.

Get to the local college and take a course in dog grooming and go to your Bank for a New Business Start Up Loan and you're away.

Just think - freedom to travel around and be your own boss. Take on as many or as few jobs as you wish and be WITH DOGS ALL DAY LONG.

How great would that be?
