Wink

Ok, it is time to start planting my flowers this spring (no laughing! Junior actually has out grown his digging stage) and I am wondering which plants are posionous to dogs. Living in CA, I have plants all year round (roses-very good around the weak fence spots, potato flowers, calia lilies, pansies, snap dragons & other shrubs) but I am going to really add this year. I have heard that English Ivy is bad (good thing that died on its own! LOL) and I know pointsettias are bad inside.
Any suggestions?

Thanks a "bunch!"

I'd check some botanical websites to be sure.
I know of several poisonous houseplants, but I'm not entirely sure about landscape-type plants.

Do you think Junior would actually eat the plants?
I'm more worried about any chemicals and weedkillers than the plants themselves.

Good thing your English Ivy died. Around here it's considered a noxious foreign invader! It just takes over everything in it's path and is difficult to completely get rid of.

There are several sites which list poisonous plants, here are a few:

http://www.uexplore.com/health/poisonplants.htm

http://www.mcvicker.com/hsscv/hsscv17.htm

http://www.************************/poisonous.asp

http://www.caninetimes.com/Articles/...ousFlowers.htm

Also, the ASPCA's National Animal Poison Control Center publishes a very thorough booklet of toxic plants; you can purchase it for $15 (details here: http://www.napcc.aspca.org/otherinfo.htm#publication) It's nice because it also lists non-toxic plants. I always figure just because something's not listed as toxic doesn't mean it isn't - unless it's on the non-toxic list!
