and Bella makes TWO!!!
Last night, we brought home our 2nd boxer, Bella! She was a Rescue (previous owners got caught in an apt with too many dogs) that's about 8 months old...sweet as can be!! Just happens to be the same age as our Missy too....both fawns with black masks, natural ears and tails!
They get along great but we are seeing LOTS of humping (something our Missy has never done) and wrestling over bones and such. I wasn't sure if Missy would be the dominant one and I'm still not sure. Both seem very persistant to leadership. Does there always end up being one that is more dominant? I'm relatively new but I think I've heard it referred to as the Alpha dog? Any info would be much appreciated.

Congrats Angela!
Your Missy is such a pretty girl. Double the fun in your house!
When we had two boxers, our male tended to be the most dominant, but there were certain areas that Jazz (who was there first) would never relinquish to him, and he didn't push it. So it was kind of alternating, with Beau coming out just a little ahead in terms of dominant.
The one thing that would bring out the strongest dominance with Beau was to give them both a prized treat (large natural beef bones caused the most trouble) without separating them into different areas first. He was not "food agressive" but could be very much that way with a bone.

i also have a rescue that came in, although she is very much NOT the alpha dog - at least most would say that. i however think she is the "behind the scenes" alpha dog my youngest, the one we had first, is noticably more out going and the take charge kind a gir - but when tes, Our rescue, has had enough she lets buttercup know and it is ALL OVER!!

Yahoo for you, 2 boxers!
One suggestion I have is now that you have a "pack", be sure to establish yourself as the alpha. A handy book to have is "The Dog Listener".
Congrats again!

A little "dominance humping" never hurt anybody.
Congratulations!

Congrats!
Some may think that 2 boxers would be double trouble, but I say double the love.
