tomato juice??
 

My yard looks like it has the chicken pox. We have a million dead spots in our grass. My friend gives her dog 4 tablespoons of tomato juice every morning. This has stopped the dog's pee from turing the grass yellow. I researched it a little bit and didn't find any side effects of doing this. Have you tried this? HAve you heard anything wrong with doing this? I gave him a little this morning and he loved it. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have no Idea!! But if it is ok I would like to know also! I am no expert, but I don't see anything wrong with it!

I have tried it this year, and my lawn looks much better than last year. There is only one brown spot in the grass now, and last year the spots were everywhere. I've been using low sodium juice. Samantha likes it--she likes tomatoes!

I put some tomatoes in my veggies mix for my dogs, so I don't think there's any problem with giving some tomato juice. But I can't understand how it works, because it's the urine acidity that kill the grass, and tomatoes are very acid too :confused:

I've been using it for the past month or so, but I fear parts of my lawn are byond it. They need new turf to be laid and then we'll see whether the juicfe works or not.

The boys certainly don't mind taking it though, I usually put a sloop on their food in the evening.

Tyra and Elmo love their tomato juice. The lawn looks great too. I haven't had any side effects and began giving it to them daily since February.

I used to give Xena the 100% real tomato juice that comes in a bottle when I heard about this also. I've gotten lazy about cleaning it off the floors as she drinks so now I just give her half a tomato twice a day on her way outside :)
Also, try having a watering can next to the door so when your dog pees on the grass anywhere, you can water it right away. The nitrogen in urine is actually really good for grass if it’s diluted :)
