Talking Anyone with 2 boxer pups?

I've read a few threads over the past weeks where several people have said they are thinking about getting 2 boxer puppies or have just brought them home.

I'd love to share stories with you. We have 2 female puppies (Mia & Marcella) that were born on 11/25/02. They are both fawn with black masks and a little white above the nose. Their tails are docked and we plan on keeping their ears floppy.

At first they were getting up a night, but they've been sleeping through for about 2 1/2 weeks nowl. The biggest challenge so far has been housebreaking and chewing. Housebreaking has been going better this week, but last week was rainy (and windy) and we had a very bad time. They wouldn't even go out the back door.

Hope to hear from you. I love having two. They crack us all up so many times a day when they play, relate to us and to one another.

We too have two pups. King and Queen. Queen is 5 weeks older than King but he is so much bigger than her. They keep us VERY busy as we also have a three year old daughter. We have had a bit of trouble potty training because King is younger and still has accidents, but Queen sees him doing it and follows in his footsteps. They are great fun and such angels. We'd be lost without both of them. They are in my picture gallery if you want to check them out!

You might not tell from looking at my avatar, but there's only 7 months different between Max and Lucy.....So I did have 2 pups. I will never have just one dog again! They simply adore eachother - they're always together, curled up on their bed (in the CUTEST poses!!)....they run around like a pair of raptors at the leash-free park (and cause trouble like a pair of raptors too! )

But, for all the extra work, there is nothing better than a pair of boxers....unless it is a trio of boxers!!! (lol - just incase my BF reads this post!)

I couldn't imagine having only one puppy either. Potty training is harder, but they make up for it in so many other ways. I love to see them cuddled up together when they're sleeping, but I also love to watch them stalk each other, play hide and seek and run around our kitchen island at breakneck speed!

I've finally been able to display some pictures of my two on this site - it only took me a month to figure it out. I'm still working on my avitar.

Best wishes to all of you who "double the pleasure, double the fun",

Martha

Talking

We have a 10mth old fawn female and a 12 wk old male brindle and we love every minute of it. It was a challenge at first because when we first brought Ali the 12 wk home at 7 wks Angel was in her first heat cycle so she spent alot of time outside and then when she was finally done Ali had hernia surgery so we had to keep them seperated for a few days then to. finally they are getting to be with each other all the time but when we leave home we put them in seperate kennel runs that are side by side. You never know what Angel might decide to do to the little guy when no ones home. We also have a 6yr old skin baby little girl so we are always busey and she loves to get the puppies going. Ali would fight alot at first with Angel because she was so interested in him that she was all over him all the time. Now they like to sleep and cuddle together it is so cute. Does anyone have any suggestions on when you think they would be okay to leave together in same run when we are gone? Hope you enjoy your puppies.

I've got two too !!!
Peace and Joy will be 9 weeks old tomorrow. We got them when they were 6 weeks. They are the funniest pups I've ever had. They cuddle together at night like they're joined at the hip!
But when they wake up it's on !!! running, chasing, attacking, stealing each others toys!! It is soooo funny to watch them stick their little butts up in the air when they get ready to attack!! and when i let them out in the morning i'd better be ready for an obsticle course...runnin' around my feet like they're trying to see if I'm awake ! i just love my babies ! They are doing really well with the housebreaking...they will usually stand by the door until someone notices...or Joy (my loudmouth ) will gadly bark and howl until we open the door ! My husband just gave them a soccer ball to play with and watching them trying to bit it and jump on it and roll off of it, is like watching slapstick comedy !

I haven't gotten any pics to post yet, but I going to take some this weekend !

peace...and joy !

I agree with everyone else. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have a Trio (Bonnie, Clyde and Chester) and they are the BEST!!! They were definatly harder to potty train (and to train in general), but it was SOOOOOO worth it.

The only problem I have is that they definatly gang up at the dog park. I take them one at a time now; it also gives them some one on one time with me.

That's such a good idea. I'm noticing that mine get very jealous of one another. They are just like little kids that way.

I also have 2, Sasha and Samson. They are 9 weeks old and are so fun to watch and play with. The only bad thing is the potty training. Not going to good but it has been so cold and we got about 4 inches of snow this week. I take them out and they just look at me like You try coming outside with no clothes on and see how you like it. Of course when i say lets go in they take off at a dead run and then get their leashes tangled up. then they come in and have to shake and shiver fo a little bit. It is so funny to watch. they want to cuddle up in my lap and get warm and of course i let them. Dont know what i will do when they get bigger and both want on my lap.

Double the pleasure

We have always just had one at a time until Duchess passed. Now we have Samson and Delilah. They are 2 1/2years. We bought some spray from Foster and Smith magazine to help housebreak. We would take them to the yard and spray this stuff in the grass. They would smell it and go . They got the hang of this in a week or two. We also gave a small treat when they finished. Samson would not go until he saw Delilah go. Good luck.
