Wakey....Wakey...bright and breezy...How do they do it?

Just how do they manage to wake up and be ready to go in seconds?

Today Monty has had his sister Sophie here most of the day and boy have they played....they had a good walk beforehand and then they just played with toys...had play fights...pulled all Montys bedding out of his basket and then fought each other in the empty plastic basket...stopped briefly for a good lunch before continuing. At about 3pm I braved it and put their harnesses on and took them both out...taking Sophie home.

I stayed another hour with my sister...they've just bought a bungalow and are renovating it.....While chatting the dogs seem to settle down on the drive way...Pat said...take that old bit of carpet out so they can lie on it...they didn't like to be inside as my BIL was banging away fixing the pipes to a new washing machine.
I took a lovely big piece out but did they want to lie on it...you've guessed it...NO.
I left it there and went back to talk to Pat...suddenly BIL shouts...Where have they got that carpet from....the two of them shot round the back with a corner of the carpet in each of their mouths and started to rip it to pieces....It was quickly taken off them but I guess they were revived and it wasn't long before they managed to get the peg bag off the washing line...empty it of all pegs..put a few holes in it rendering it useless....Boy what a good days work they managed.

Anyway to get back on to the subject....I took Monty home...he had his tea and crashed out...totally oblivious to all going on arround him...one eye lid occaisionally flickered slightly open but the eyeball was rolled back...only to slide shut again almost immediately.

He was totally out of it so why when I tried to creep out of the house...just to pop up to the shops....did he suddenly awake with vengeance...shoot up..give a little shake and look as if he'd slept a good 24 hours and was raring to go again.

Don't I just wish I could have some of what makes him tick ...It takes me at least two cups of coffee to come round from a deep sleep

so cute...

It's amazing what sounds the dogs get used to. I can play video games with my speakers cranked and Sierra will sleep soundly. The second my foot hits the floor (no matter how quiet I try to be) her eye opens to check me out.
When we're sleeping at night, I can get up 6 times to visit the washroom and she won't even budge (what, and give up the 2/3's of my bed she's consuming, are you nuts?) BUT the second I touch the sliding door to make sure I locked it she bolts out of bed and is standing by my side before I can turn around. Like I'd ever leave her, sheesh
