Raiden got a bit of a scare today!

I came home from an appointment today after being gone for an hour only to not be able to ope my front door ... After going in through the back I discovered that Raiden's kennel, with him in it, is wedged up-side-down between the stairs and the door. His kennel is normally in the living room, a good 20 feet from the stairs (with some interesting angles to be able to make it down). He has traveled a couple of feet before from jumping around in there but never anything to this extent. I had to flip his kennel over to get him out since the door was pushed against the front door of the house.

Thankfully, he appears to be ok with no scratches and nothing broken! The side of his kennel is cracked but I can cope with that since I was expecting to see a mangled puppy at the bottom of the stairs. He came running out of his kennel doing his bum wiggles and asking for some love, then ran back in to grab his kong.

Talk about giving me a giant scare and probably freaking himself out quite nicely as well! My other dog seemed more scared by the whole ordeal than Raiden did though.

Raidan you silly dog. It must have been quite the ride down the stairs. I am glad that you are OK.

Sounds like a tow strap to the wall is in order! Raiden probably enjoyed the ride down the stairs.....He was thinking "Yeah, now we're getting somewhere!" LOL Silly boy!

Sounds like Raiden can check stair surfing off his list! Glad he is ok.

The kennel has been moved to a spot much further with more 90 degree turns so that there is hopefully not a repeat of this! I'm surprised that he didn't develop any fears about going back in. He had a good snooze in there about an hour later. He has been VERY well behaved now though and has not barked or jumped in his kennel since then. I suppose he learned his lesson the hard way.
I am very thankful that he is ok though! I was imagining the absolute worst. I swear this dog has 9 lives! I have never had a dog get into so much mischief in my life! It definitely is an experience living with a boxer. :-P

I was envisioning the stair sledding scene from the movie "Home Alone". Glad Raiden is OK and still likes his crate.
