8 months and the damage is Piling UP :)
Well it has been 8 months since we have been blessed with our lil' man Sly. Not sure if this is a common issue with boxers (or just dogs in general), but our guy eats EVERYTHING is site...so far the damage is:
1. Wifes 500$ pair of shoes (that didnt, and still doesnt go over lightly)
2. Coffee table end
3. 2 Couches (we still have them, because there is no point to getting new ones since he will just probably eat them)
4. At least 4 different hats (2 of mine and 2 of our kids)
5. 2 expensive Under Armour mouth guards that i use for working out
6. Lots of bras, various clothing items
7. Tree in the back yard
8. Has destroyed every dog toy that he is ever gotten. Just recently got him a KONG Large Tennis Ball with a squeaker inside and in about 1 hour he was able to rip the outer coating on the outside of the rubber off. ( also he has puked 1 squeaker and pooped 2 that he ripped out of other toys..haha)
9. 2 xbox headsets, 1 xbox controller
10.....to be continued.
Haha. This lil' guy is a beast. Its sooooo hard to stay mad at him for even 1 second when he looks up at me with his floppy ears and big ole' tongue hanging out.
So the moral of the story is, at all times, our bedroom, the kids bedrooms, and my wifes office are ALWAYS LOCKED...and I highlight the word Locked, because he has figured out how to open most doors in our house (little stinker), and nothing can ever be left on a table, counter, etc.
Anyone of you experience the same with your balls of joys?

It does get better but at last count our boys have destroyed
3 chairs
1 kitchen table
2 matresses
6 remotes
1 xbox headset
too many underwear/socks to count
1 pair eyeglasses
baseboards in kitchen
backdoor
The list goes on and on but I wouldn't take anything for my boys. They light up our days and make life interesting.

The good news is you should be through the teething stage. But to be honest it sounds like a bored pup to me. I'm guessing this happening when no one is home, or someone would be stopping him. I would look into getting him some more exercise. The saying goes, a tired boxer is a happy boxer. If you can't walk him before you leave for they day, look into getting him a dog walker, or doggy daycare.

After Raiden chewed countless kids toys and my cell phone charger he now gets crated when we are not directly supervising him. It has saved A LOT of headaches! Thankfully as he is getting past teething, he is improving and not trying to eat everything in sight.
Despite lots of daily exercise, he gets into way too much trouble when not being watched. He is good when I am in the room with him, but if I even go have a shower when no one else is home without bringing him in the bathroom with me, he will find something to get into.
My border collie chewed absolutely everything when she was teething as a puppy but once she had all of her adult teeth so hasn't chewed anything which is fantastic. I can only hope that Raiden will follow in her footsteps to someday be trusted.

Good point, and agreed.
My boy has chewed on a door a lil bit when we were gone once, but thats really it. He enjoys his toys but it takes him awhile to demolish them, thats not his goal. He just likesplaying with them. Like right now hes chewing on a small squeaker ball that easily fits in his mouth but he jiust likes squeezing it and making noise vs trying to actually eat it.

expensive little babies!!!
Haha, glad to know im not alone on that one. Lily and Dood have got a list too and although we always come home to find these things we can practically guarantee that Lily gets started on something and then Dood sees how much fun he's missing out on and so joins in.
So far theyre on....
1 Leather sofa
6 Dog beds
1 Dog crate
4 pairs of shoes
2 floors of lino (kitchen and back room)
1 £10 note
1 cupboard
1 xbox headset
1 paper shredder
No matter how much we 'doggy proof' the house and leave their toys out, they always find something that they arent supposed to have

I dont think Sly is that bored. He has Chevy (our Golden) to play with. We take him for walks almost daily, bring him to dog parks, and just recently started to bring him to a doggie day care near our house that is great and he loves it. Our lil' guy does neet attention almost all the time so maybe that why he eats stuff. He is the most stubborn dog that I have ever had or seen. He literally will grab something right in front of me, I say "uh uh", he'll stop, then come right back in about 2 minutes. We could literally do this all day.
But WE LOVE our lil' man. We will start taking him out more once he gets over his recent stomach issues.

Its all part of the puppy stage. I'm on my 3rd Boxer and each one of them has gone through this. My baby girl is now 3 months old and she tries to bite just about everything. When I tell her no, she proceeds to bark at me! As if telling me she is the boss. Just be persistant in stopping the undesired behavior and they will eventually grow out of it. My 12 year old boxer hasn't chewed anything up in years. She has full access to the house all day long. The baby is confined to the laundry room as to lessen any potential damage.

Thankfully we were able to avoid much destruction when Juno was a pup. She did cause irreparable damage to a heated mattress pad, a rug, and my math textbook.... but that's not too horrible.
She has gotten hold of and chewed on other things, but luckily not bad enough that they are ruined.
For the most part though she is DONE with that stage and I am glad! Only time we have to be careful is when she hasn't had much exercise--which unfortunately is a common occurrence in the winter.

Oops i missed one thing. For some reason, dog beds arent safe with dante. Hes killed 3 or 4. If i recall correctly however, they were all destroyed out of boredom while he was gated in his hallway when we were out. Its odd though because he still has most of his toys that we got for him before we even brought him home. Small little stuffed toys. Lol. Fortunately hes not too destructive, and he just has a bunch of blankets in his crate instead of dog beds now, lol.

Yowzers!
Rocky never destroyed anything bad...I think maybe one dog bed when he was like 6 months old while I was in the shower. THa'ts it.
He was crated when we were gone up until he was 1.5 now he gets full run of the house and he sleeps on our bed all day.
I would suggest crating if you don't want to keep dishing out money to replace all of the damaged items!! Not to mention to keep your dog safe. If he eats something and it doesn't come out - that's thousands of dollars in testing and surgery to keep him alive!
