My two stay in the kitchen while I am cooking to get all the bits I seem to drop on the floor. I tend to be a very messy cook.....they are quite happy about this. As for sharing my food I really don't much. But while I am eating anything with peanut butter I just have to share because Cody loves it so much.
Aniah loves raw potatos, when I am peeling it just seems to fly everywhere. She also loves ice and will come running whenever she hears or sees the freezer door open.

I don't give Couture any people food. Not only because I don't want a dog that begs for food but also because she has a sensitive stomach and any variation gives her the runs. However she does like to lick the condensation off the outside of cups/cans. I give her help and rotate it so she can get all of it.

I give her a little bit of peanut butter every once in a while when I have to give her pills and she absolutely LOVES it! She will wiggle the whole time she is eating it.

No food while we are eating... half the time we eat dinner in the living room, so we don't want the dogs sitting there staring at us. They have to lay down, and once in a while get an accidentally dropped bite.

They don't get much human food or that often, but if while cooking or cleaning up we decide to give them a little taste, it always goes in their bowls.

Wink My dogs love fruits and vegetables

While preparing food in the kittchen I sometimes give my dogs a little piece of apple, karrott, pear or banana. They love cherry tomatoes, too. Sometimes I mix some chicken and rice in their food.
While we are eating at the table they don't get anything and they don't beg. Unfortunately if we eat on the couch while watching TV they beg a lot. It wasn't that bad while I had only one dog but with two dogs it is annoying. So I will have to be more strict in the future!

We include some human food in their bowl mixed with their blue buffalo and california natural kibble: skinless/boneless boiled chicken breast, green beans, and 100% pure pumpkin (canned). They get some fruit and other veggies on occasion if they happen to be lounging in the kitchen.

Our male is on the California natural and is such a large dog we add the beans to his food for added fiber and a filler, and we give him about 3 tablespoons of the pumpkin after his meal, something like dessert I guess, to give him a little more fiber. He is 29" at the shoulders and 116lbs and we want to keep him as healthy as possible. He will very rarely beg (unlike his sister) but if we do give him something that we are preparing we make him do a trick for it.

The female and my husband have a "special" relationship, they are pantry surfers from the time he comes home from work until they go to bed. She only does it with him and if he ignores her surfing and I go close the doors on the pantry, she knocks until he goes over to surf with her. He has very strict orders from me and our vet on what he can give her: rice crispies, plain cheerios, high protein low fat dog treats (mostly turkey, chicken or beef strips from a holistic pet food store) We also try to not by dog treats that are made in china for the simple fact we are very unsure of the quality. She has had 3 very bad episodes of pancreatitis so almost everything she used to get has been eliminated.

As for drinks, water only. They have both stuck their tongues into my coffee cup to steal a taste but thats about it.

Guilty! Cornelius loves Cheez-its. He can tell when I get the box out of the pantry.

We are guilty of this.

If they behave while we have dinner, they get a little taste almost every time we eat - safely, though. Nothing spicy or heavily seasoned. A couple of pasta noodles, a little rice, or peas... They just love everything and are so thrilled if they get four peas. I think it has helped with Zeke's sensitive stomach a bit. He seems more tolerant of slight changes in diet.

Jake's Buttermilk Biscuits

2 cups self-rising flour
6 T. butter flavor shortening
3/4 c buttermilk (more or less)

Cut shortening into flour until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk until soft dough forms. You don't want the dough so wet that it's sticky nor so dry that it won't stay together.

Pat out on floured surface (I use wax paper) and cut into rounds. Bake at 450 until the tops are turning golden brown (in my oven it takes about 10-12 minutes).
