Does she know when to stop?

Kenadie is the sweetest thing ever, but she towers over my shih-poo. I had them outside yesterday, and took them both of leash to have a good romp. she would not leave Sasha alone. she had her pinned on her back, and mouth on her neck so many times. I know she is playing but she actually growls (and really loud) and kinda shakes her head while Sasha is in her mouth. Im just worried she wont know when enough is enough.

What's Sasha's body language like during all this? Does she try to get away? Does she snap or growl? If you were to pull Kenadie off, would Sasha try to re-initiate the interaction, or would she move off as if she were grateful for the break? If it is the latter, I would monitor their play and remove and/or redirect Kenadie before she gets too rowdy with her play. Only allow her to resume play with Sasha once she is calmer. If however, Sasha prefers to come back for more, then I would tend to leave them to their play.

I wouldn't worry too much about the noises you are hearing. My two sound like they are about to kill each other when they are playing. It is loud and sounds just horrible.....but they are just very vocal. I would be more concerned about noises if you heard crying noises....that means somebody got hurt. Good luck.

I agree with both comments. However, I any case I would interupt when the head shaking occurs. Boxers are pretty strong and an unintentional yet very serious accident could occur.
