Talking Tripping over your shadow

Okay so we have at least one shadow that follows us everywhere, right!?! Well how many times have you tripped over yours?

I trip over Chops on a daily basis. I always know he follows me everywhere, but when coming out of bathroom at night and he is right by the door...trip! Then there is the time when you have an armful of laundry...trip! I love the fact that he always has to be right near me!

Love him to death, but you think he would figure out that when he lays right in the doorway he is going to tripped over...but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Thought I would see how many others have this to deal with too!

When I make supper, Tyson always lays in the kitchen. I just tripped over him last night! I told him to move really nicely, and you'd swear I yelled at him. Ears dropped down, head down and he went to the living room with dad.
They are sooo sweet!! I actually like the company in the kitchen, but not right under my feet LOL

Mine are not as bad now a days.
Kilbane is the most independant. He'll either hang out in the Living room or lounge on the bed by himself.
Jazzy will need to be in whatever room I'm in including the Bathroom, or at least wait outside the door.
Now if I make my way to the back door, they'll all follow. Even if it's to put the trash in the can, at task that takes all of 5 seconds.

The trouble with Clare is when she is laying say, by the couch on the floor and I get up, I just want to walk by her and not disturb her and I even tell her to stay. She decides to get up anyway, as I am just about past her and I then trip over her.

I have tripped over Roxy many times. She is my constant companion and where I go she goes.

If I'm in the kitchen she is on the mat by the sink right next to my feet. Unless I open the dishwasher, with the dirty dishes in it, then she high tails over to see if there are any editable morsels left there.

The other morning I got out of bed, in the dark, to use the bathroom and I didn't hear her follow me (from the bed, of course). I exited the bathroom without the light on so I wouldn't wake my DH and took one step in the bedroom and nearly fell over Roxy who was waiting outside the door. I guess I should have used the light because I woke him up as I asked Roxy if she was OK.

If anything she is helping me to maintain my quick reflexes and balance.

I tell DH all the time that I have a "tail" Hurricane is typically glued to my side, although he has finally figured out that when I am putting away laundry or cleaning that I will not disappear when I walk to the other room for a moment... but if I am gone for more than 15 seconds or so, you better believe he is coming to investigate and make sure everything is all right!

I guess by the sounds of it anyon that owns one has a little shadow. I knew my parents boxer and others had told me how people oriented these dogs were, but I had no idea until we got one. She is a sweetie, but I swear sometimes I think i'm going to fall and break an arm. And as for her oh my god the poor dog about knocks herself stupid sometimes. She's too busy looking behind her to see me walking and has more than once walked into a door or wall or table. Poor baby!

Talking

Yip, Roxy follows me everywhere... If I move, Roxy moves- (even if she is sound asleep) if I walk to the front door she follows.. I stop, she stops... my DH thinks its hilarious. If I turn around while she is following me she just gives me the boxer boogie...

I guess I am better trained than most. I rarely trip over my dogs because I learned long ago that they will not always adapt to my moves so I have adapted to theirs. Though last week Arabella stopped suddenly in front of me at the top of the stairs,( she usually runs to the bottom ahead of me or stops half way to make sure I'm following) and I almost went for a long fall.
