Biggest Boxer Mess...

Since it is now Spring here, I have been thinking about doing some spring-cleaning. It got me thinking about how messy my boxers can be. I've had to clean up popped waterbeds, skunked boxers, and plenty of muddy paw prints. The biggest mess ever though was when Fred was about 14 weeks old. I was vacuuming and he was barking at the vacuum like he usually did. Only, I did not know he was actually trying to let me know he had to go outside to do his business, so he decided to just poop on the rug I was vacuuming, and I could just vacuum it up for him.....which is exactly what happened! It was one of those nasty soft stinky puppy poops and it blended in with the rug so I did not notice until it was way too late. I had to put on a make-shift hazmat suit to disassembly and sanitize the vacuum. It took hours to clean up the vacuum . It is a Dyson, so it really has good suction. Does anyone else have any big boxer messes to share?

My last boxer, Molly, decided she didn't like the christmas decorations in the box they were in, she thought they looked much better strewn across the living room floor, bless her.

So many to choose from

Best has to be the time Boxer #1 investigated the wok. We were ouside saying good bye to guests when we heard a loud ((gong)) from inside. Came to find herself sitting in a pool of cooking oil (cold thankfully) wearing the wok on her head and that "wasn't me" look on her face. 25+ years later we still have a very shiny kitchen floor.

My messiest story is from when Joey was about 16 weeks old and one night kinda late, he had to go poop, so we went outside and he was out in the outer edge of the back yard doing his buisness, it was dark and I could see him but not his feet. When Joey was done we went back in side. BF was already in bed asleep and so Joey wanted to go to bed too. So he jumped up onto the bed and was getting all compy trying to find that right spot to lay. What I didnt know was that Joey had stepped in his poop and had it on both his back feet So he got poop all over the sheets, blankets, and pillows. And even some on BF . It didnt take BF 2 seconds to smell it and jump up even though it was a bit to late. I had to change the whole bed and give Joey a bath. BF had to take a shower. Needless to say even now that Joey is grown I check his feet EVERY TIME he comes into the house after going to the bathroom.

When Oscar was a puppy, he cried to have me take him out in the middle of the night, I did, he pooped. Later that night, he cried again, it was still dark, and DBF Steve took him out. It was summer, Steve went out barefoot, did not know where Oscar pooped, and stepped in it. Steve used the hose to clean his feet, but still needed a shower, too. At least he didn't track it all over the house. I don't think Steve has taken the dogs out after dark since then.

My worst was Cody's 1 st Christmas, he was still quite a little guy and he decided to eat a glass x-mas ornament. It didn't make a huge mess, but it is not easy cleaning shards of glass out of boxer lips. It was very scary. But we got them all and no blood was shed, so happy ending.

When Smoke was about 5 months old, I came home one day to find a poop mess ALL over his crate. He had never messed his crate before, so I was just bewildered ... I took him out to do his business, and before we could even get out of the door, he puked on the threshold! I had 3 messes now- Smoke, the crate, and the threshold to clean. He was soooo stinky, I took him to the groomer for a bath immediatly, I wasn't even going to attemp it. He came back looking and smelling wonderful! We have never had another incident like that!

The male I fosterd crapped in the crate the first time I left him in it. It was all over it - even on the top wires! I had to take it outside and hose it down. Then I still had to wipe it - every little bar on it! It took hours!

But it must have been nerves from being his first day there, cause it never happened again.

Sorry so long

I was gone to work one weekend when Maya was about 4 or 5 months old. DH was in the garage working on his motorcycle. It was still kind of cold outside so he had the garage doors down. He decided to leave the door to the house open so the dog could wander out there and check out his handywork. I called later that afternoon to let them know I was on my way home. While talking to my husband he says really sweetly "honey, I love you"!
Well that is not necessarily uncommon, it was just his tone of voice telling me something wasn't right. I asked him if something was wrong and he said well...you'll see when you get here.

I get home and walk upstairs where our family room is...and HOLY CRAP!!! We have cream colored carpet that is now covered with grease. I wish I still had the pics to share, just for the visual. While DH was working on the motorcycle, Maya decided to take one of his parts upstairs to see if she could help out. He said he remembers her running up the stairs like she had just won the lottery, but didn't think anything about it. It took forever to get that mess out of the carpet. I tried everything...from Dawn dishwashing detergent to carpet cleaner. Low and behold the magic solution was Scrubbing Bubbles. Someone from work told me that this will work on any stains on your carpet. I was reluctant becuase, hello its bathroom cleaner. But, I thought what the heck and gave it a try. I couldn't believe it. Let's just say the carpet is not perfect, but it looks a hundred times better than what it did. It has been replaced by other things now. Muddy paws, knocked over drinks, etc. Looking forward to hardwood floors. Looking back now, it's easy to laugh about, but at the time I just wanted to scream. They can really think of the most creative things to get into.

In the first week after we adopted Scrappy, I came home to several messes, but the one I remember the best was the day I came home to the distruction of several window blinds and a doorframe that was completely chewed up, splinters everywhere!!
