Smile That is so funny!

My Teagan does most of those things already and she is nine weeks old! We laugh so hard when she gets going on her tail. And sometimes she even catches it! I just love how she wants to lay in your lap to take a nap. The floor just isn't good enough for her, but I know that it will continue when she gets to be full grown. But that is certainly okay because that is why we love boxers, right?

Thumbs up Oh I almost forgot!

Our baby has a love for those plants with many long green leaves that cascade out from the middle. She starts running full speed and jumps right into the middle and disappears among all the leaves. Then she hops right into the middle of the next one! She is so adorable!

My baby Jakey does all of the above, including the ever-so-adorable happy butt wiggle! Aside from the gas, he's just cute all over!

Smile Cute Boxer Traits

Our 3 mo. old Shae hides food and chew bones. She 'tries out' several places usually.......under a sofa pillow.....behind a chair......on the lower shelf of an end table.......under a decorative bench.......until she finally leaves it there. Usually goes back for it pretty quickly. I don't know what this is for, maybe just testing to see if they'll be there when she returns! Sure is funny tho......I've found a french fry and a chew bone unexpectedly!

Mugsy traits

I only read the first 22 pages in this hundred plus page thread so forgive me if already mentioned..Mugsy has most of the other traits others have mentioned from kidney beaning to sighing to the boxer burn, sleeping on his back, boxing with the front paws and LOVEs the water. Here are a few things not mentioned:
1. When dogs are barking on tv, he will stare at the tv, turn his head sideways and then get up growling and heads for the nearest window to "find" the tresspasser...you'd think he'd learn since we watch the Dog Whisperer alot!
2. He is afraid of loud noises, tucks tail and hides when my husband and I yell, or we drop a pot lid or book, use the vacuum cleaner and whoa if you take him out to go potty when the garbage truck is in the vicinity! Having grown up with german shepards that wanted to Kill" the garbage truck, its different!
3. And talk about smart...if I say go get the orange frisbee, he can search thru multiple frisbees and find the right one and bring it to you. "Go find daddy" and he is off on a search to find dad. Go get the newspaper, he will go outside to the driveway and carry in the newspaper....He knows LOTs of different words

Muffin is the bestest dog I've ever owned

Muffin (2.5 years, brindle female) is unlike any dog I've ever owned.

- Of course she kidney-beans and woo-woos like all other boxers and the gas is indescribable.
- She snores SO loudly that we actually have to wake her up because we can't hear the television anymore. Once I was bathing upstairs while she was downstairs and I heard what I thought was a truck parking outside our house. Turns out it was Muffin - sleeping.
- She often barks in her sleep and has woken herself up several times by howling in her dreams. She looked so confused when she woke up - it was hilarious.
- She runs incredibly fast. We have a big field opposite our house where we take her to run around and throw the ball for her etc and when she runs it sounds just like a galloping horse. It looks like she's flying - it's beautiful to watch. And she can leap several feet in one go if she's in the mood. Once she cleared a 5ft wall in one go without a second thought but if you ask her to get in the car she looks at you as if to say "That's impossible, look how high that is!" Then you have to pick her up and put her on the back seat (she ways about 60lbs so it's not easy!)
-She's about as dainty as a buffalo in everything she does. When eating, her food flys everywhere and it's pretty much the same when she's drinking. And we are absolutely not allowed to watch her eat. If she realises that she is being watched she will stop eating and look at you until you walk away. And she never seems to be able to calculate when to start breaking when she's running. We always have to step aside when she's running towards us otherwise she'd just knock us over like bowling pins (in fact she has done this several times.)
-She follows us everywhere. And if she has decided she wants to play with you or that you should give her attention she will pester you until you give in.
-She is EXCELLENT with the kids. She is just like one of the gang and is happy to be involved in whatever game they are playing. The other day she was the ship dog while they were all pretending to be pirates. And you can see she's just so happy to be in the middle of all the action.
-She is incredibly curious. Whenever I open the cupboards when cooking she's always there poking her nose into the cupboard under my arm to see what I'm doing.
-Possibly the thing I love about her the most is that she wags her stump for everything. If we are talking and she is the same room and one of us laughs (we don't even have to be looking at her or talking about her) she'll start wagging her tail. And the more you laugh the more she wags it.
-She's a licking fanatic. Once she starts it's like she gets into a licking frenzy and it becomes like an obsession for her to lick every inch of your hand.
-When she's in a quieter mood, it just makes my heart melt when she wants to cuddle and she snuggles with her face right into my chest so that she almost can't breathe.
-And she gets this really soppy look on her face when I start kissing her head and cooing and calling her all her names (Muffins Puffins, Muffy, Foofie face, Mommy's girl etc etc etc)
-My husband likes to put his feet up on the coffee table when he's watching TV and she'll come and rest her head on the bridge he makes with his legs between the couch and the table. Then she'll SIGH dramatically while looking at him with a woeful expression.
-She is always ALWAYS ready to play and will turn anything into a game.
-She's incredibly obedient for a boxer and will listen 1st time 90% of the time. You can see when she doesn't plan on listening to you because when you've told her to come or to stop whatever she's doing her ears go down and she pretends she hasn't heard you. It's really funny.
-When she's done something naughty and she knows it she will keep a really low profile even before we know she's done something wrong. It's usually because she has disappeared that we know she's been naughty. And when we find her and scold her she runs away and hides with her bum in the hedge so that we can't smack her. It's really hard to be cross with her at all because it's just so funny to see.

I think most of all I just love her lust for life and the way she is always in such a good mood. It's impossible to feel down when she's around because she is such a clown and just is so good natured that you can't resist her. Recently my husband's mom passed away and I think that she has really helped him through the more difficult moments because she made him laugh even when was at rock bottom. She's the best dog I've ever owned and I have become a steadfast boxer fan.

My husband didn't like dogs before I coerced him into buying one (well almost, let's just say I'm a good negotiator lol) and now he adores Muffin. She has become like one of our kids and it is so lovely to watch how much he takes care of her and the trouble he goes to see that she is comfortable, happy, made a fuss of etc. She has changed our family life.

And I thought it was just our dog that was a loon!!! lol One thing that Chester has done since been a baby is get obsessed over things out of place. For example if we decide to move an ornament, he jumps at the item slamming his front feet on the floor with all his might whilst "gruffing", the same happens if we put a cup on the floor, or basically anything that shouldn't be there!!

Also, in the past few months he's started laying down whenever we're out walking and people come near him! It's quite funny, I call it his "stealth mode"!!

Cool Crazy doggies

I think all boxers have similar traits. It's so funny b/c I have seen dogs mixed with boxer and you can always tell b/c of the butt wiggle, side ways walk, and the ever attractive snort/sneeze.

Our baby Paris's traits are:
boxing
swatting
snorting
sneezing
big sigh
sad eyes
guilt trip
wiggle
side ways walk
foamy druel mixed with dirt
talking; raaww, raaww, raaww
looks like she has no teeth
pouty black bottom lip
snaggle tooth
running in circles
galloping
stomping
whining
eye boogies
long druel line
one ear flopped up
That says it all, I think?

Paris: 13 months, 55lbs, flashy fawn, floppy, spayed, and docked. Oh yeah, crazy, silly, and spoiled.

Talking

I love to read all of these to my husband (who's trying to study)! We are so excited about getting Spyder!
Goliath used to mess up beds and lay on the pillow. You would come into the bedroom after getting jammies on and hen he would just look at you like, "What's the problem?"
I loved it when he would lay on his back like a bug and pretend that he couldn't reach a toy that was touching his side! "[Wiggle] I can't get it! I just [wiggle] can't [wiggle] reach it!" Then he would stand up and grab it in his mouth!

Boxer Traits

I've been reading everyone's posts and I've got to say, I can't wait to see how many of these traits show up in our Bella. Since she's our first boxer and only 4 months old, we haven't experienced most of them yet but I find myself chuckling at most of the experiences you all have had. We were concerned the first night when she did the kidney bean move - I wondered if we had a "slightly imperfect" addition. Now we just call it her wiggle butt! She does the jack hammer move, has the gas but what I find most amazing is her ability to pick up on new tricks and commands. She can learn a trick a night!
