Inches off the bed

My Bo will do anything to not get kicked off the bed. I share my king sized bed with my 2 kids, 2 pugs and my boxer. When the pugs and her start playing around and pretend they're going to eat each other, I tell them to knock it off and get off the bed before they hurt the baby. The pugs will get off, but the boxer will only move an inch, or barely budge at all and she 'plays dead', and then I have to carry her off. She will do anything to stay on the bed, even hanging off the corner until she gets the final nudge off.

that's funny....

I didin' know other Boxers do the "laying on teh back with the legs up in the air thing" whn they get up. Haley does it for at least 10 minutes if not longer when I get up in the morning. She usually let's out about 2 or 3 heavy sighs if I try to roust her from the bead before she is ready. She has also started this new habit of licking me to wake me up at 7:00 AM on the weekends. If I don't get up, she will start walking around the bed and make sure she steps right on my face or stomach. If I still don't get up, she will sit next to the bed and whimper quietly until she get's aggitated and gives a big Boxer style whack right on the cheek! What a little brat. At thias point I usually get fed up on give her a stern "NO!" whichb settles her down for about oh....I would say 3.5 seconds. They are the most personable guys aren't they...

Louie usualy lays on his back and wriggles all over after he has woken up.He pulls himself arond the room for ages until he seems to get bored with it.
Also he tends to snort a lot when he isplaying with some of his toys.

Talking Lying on their backs

Hunter, my 15 week old boxer pup has a lot of the same qualites as Robyn's Cooper. He runs around our yard at a fast speed for no reason but it's hilarious. Barking at his toys is another thing he likes to do. He also likes to chase flies through my mom's curtains but when he's tired, he won't hesitate to flop down for a nap. Eventually he will flip over onto his back or while we are traveling he will lay in my lap or across my chest. Gotta love the cuddly little ones....except when they have gas! LOL

To continue from where Cooper and Hunter left off, Apolo has just about every single trait mentioned plus:

*Loves to play with the kids in the neighborhood.
*Enjoys the water/ swimming/ bathes
*Follows me like if he was my shadow.
*Squeaking his toys non-stop.
*Jackhammer
*Hugging
*Tearing the stuffing out of his toys
*laying on back, feet up, not a care!
*GAS
*Drooling/ Slobbering especially on our furniture.
*Snores
*Hiding his head behind or underneath things when he's sleeping.
*Kidney Beans
*Boxer Woo Woo Song
*Catching flys/ Butterflys (holding them inside his mouth then letting them go) Funniest thing
*Using paws in cat like movements
*Zipping around the backyard for no apparent reason.
*CUDDLEBUGS
*Lay their head/ body on you like it is too heavy to hold up!
*Lots of Happiness!

Apolo is our 2nd boxer, we love him and plan on getting at least 2 more.

woo woo song

The woo woo song as I can best describe it is the Boxer's way of howling. I will try and get a picture of mine when he does it. I'm sure most boxers out there do it.

The 1st time I noticed him doing it was when I was playing with the ringtones on my phone. Suddenly Apolo erects his head straight up in the air and starts woo.. woo... woo

It seems different sounds that we can't hear they do and some how interpret into something?

Try experimenting with your phone and doorbells. I'm trying to get mine to do it on command (sing)

When your boxer bends in half so his/her butt is touching their head usually as a result of extreme excitement. It resembles the bent shape of a kidney bean.

boxer hugs

Beasley loves to give hugs! I'm 4'11" so I get hugs from the 'double-shake' position and my BF is 6'3" so he gets hugs from the 'up' position. Beasley's a champion cuddler but not much of a smoocher. He doesn't really like toys (what's up with that??) but loves to run (with his slobbery chops flapping in the breeze) and hurdle the neighbor's hedges. I love when we're in the car and I'll look in the rear view mirror only to see Beasley craning his neck like E.T. so he can see where we're going. He's so silly!

Samson_dad, I can relate to your boy's reluctance to go outisde when the weather is bad. Beasley won't walk out of the garage if it's raining and will literally stand sideways and lift his leg so that he can pee OUT into the driveway while under the shelter of the little overhang on the front of the house. What a wimp!

This thread is too funny! My 6 month old, Roxy, does ALL of this stuff. The funniest is when she throws her toys around and chases after them. It never fails-every Sunday when I dust I find one or two toys on top of the entertainment center that she's thrown up there! She's also a good bathroom companion-always there when I don't need her She has gas constantly and always burps in my face! When she gets a new rawhide toy she has to chase it around the house first like she's a cat-only then can she chew it up. I guess she likes to play with her prey first She always falls asleep on her back, snoring away, but in the morning I find her all tucked up next to me with her head on my shoulder. She likes to think she's independent but in her sleep I guess she needs me. One thing that I'm not sure was mentioned is people watching. Roxy will sit out on the balcony and just watch people for hours. Everytime she's sees someone her little stub of a tail starts wagging and when they're out of sight she'll wait for the next person to come along and do the same thing-it's hilarious! Silly boxers!

its amazing! until you speak to everyone you think your baby is the only one doing these crazy things! She is so funny with her chewy sticks, just throws them so high and then chases them all over the house! If she hears dogs on the tv she talks back and wags her little stub

My 3 month old puppy sits in front of the glass cabinet that holds the entertaiment system when she sees her self in the glass she starts to growl and wag her tail at the same time, then she backs up and then approachs slowly until shes nose to nose with the glass then she barks 3 times and walks away. It hilarious, she does it every evening without fail. When she sees herself in a mirror SHES NOT INTERESTED!!!!!!!!
