Kaine's quirks

It's so amazing to see how alike all our babies are. Fortunately Kaine does NOT have the gas problem. Everything else his him to a tee though. What I think is great is that he takes the kidney bean a step further by jumping at the same time and then he looks just a like a rodeo bronco. It's great! And if we've been away for a really long time then he will stand up on his back legs and "box" the air trying to reach for us. Oh, I almost forgot, he only woo-woos when I sniff (real fast like he does) at his ears. I hold him real close and stick my nose in his ear and he goes nuts. He kinda sounds like a drunk opera singer! LOL! He also loves to play fetch, keep-away, hide-and-seek, and the apartment laps are lightning fast! A new thing he just started involves his pillow. My mom made him a fleece pillow and when he does his "speed demon" act he ends up pushing all the stuffing in the middle and making a big hump. So last night he got tired and wanted to lay on the pillow but he didn't want it lumpy so he walked like 20 circles on the pillow till it was flat and then it was good enough for him to lay on.

I've seen some others mention their babies not liking puddles and such. Kaine is the same way. He doesn't even like soggy grass. He goes so far out of his way to avoid them. So far as walking the length of his leash (16 ft) away from me to not step in some yucky outside water.

His best though is how he responds to "Who's my big sweetie." I say it in a really deep baby voice (like you use for "baby talk") and he will come running from anywhere to give me tons of kisses. And the more I say it the more excited he gets. We love our 5 mo old baby boy!!!

Thanks for enduring my long post but I love how we all get such a kick out of these stories and other people would think of us as obsessed!!

Later
Jay, Amy, and Kaine

Definitely seems like we are crazy sometimes, but from all those with dogs that I know, only boxer owners share this many stories and are constantly talking about their pooches! Thankfully, a co-worker of mine has a boxer so I'm even able to talk about Rocco at work and have someone know exactly what I'm talking about! They're so full of personality, and have such a great look to them! Thank god I found this place!!

Boy we sound like a bunch of proud parents, but that's how I feel about Lady. When I throw her toy and she catches it on the fly you would she was my child and had just hit a home run. The great part about our Boxers is the unconditional love. No matter what mood we are in or how we act, they still love us (messy hair, no make up, etc.) They don't even mind moning breath!!! That love for you.

Even when they do something wrong and give you that 'BOY I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO THAT LOOK" how could anyone possibly get angry at that face.

Family pets are the best!!!!

Well, let me tell you about my guy Cruiser. He'll have his first birthday in about a month, and probably weighs 90 lbs. By far the biggest of the litter, and even bigger than his dad, who is a big boxer himself.

He is quick to let us know when he wants out. If we don't see him standing at the back door, he will scratch until someone notices. But lately he will scratch at the back door, then step back several steps and not go out. When I open the door, he patiently waits for our other two dogs to come in the house, then they all trot off together. Sort of a "Boxer conspiracy."

We really love this guy!

We have 2 big boxer babies! We,ve had Lacy for 2 years and she definetily has all of the traits I've seen mentioned, she even waits in her bed for one of us to tuck her in with the blankets. She recently had a litter and we kept what we thought was the runt (25lbs at 12 weeks) Bruiser, which is turning out to be an appropriate name and already acts exactly like mama.

The only thing I haven't seen mentioned is a trampoline! This is absolutely their favorite way to play. In between the laps around the yard they jump on it and box (even had to build a ramp for puppy so he'd stop howling). No one is safe on it if they are around.

I've owned several breeds of dogs and boxers are by far the most lovable and playful of all

Talking

Love our boxer dog, has all the traits - jumps over a 7 foot fence - just to see what the neighbours are doing. Breaks the cat flap once a week to see what the other neighbours are doing, paws at all the windows to see people walking by - but if a stranger comes in - she whimpers in the corner - unless its kids - she love those and plays all the games with them like - steal your toys, sit on your head, pinch your crisps and ice cream. She has also managed to get the lid off a beer bottle - just enough to drink the beer but not damage the bottle. She makes a perfect family!

Magics strange things

Magic has some traits posted and some i wish she had, lol

Snoring
farting,
grunting,
running around like a mad-man,
hogging the covers and pillows,
laying on back all the time,
she does summer saults,
cleans her feet like a cat,
uses everyone as a personal napkin,
jumping and flipping in mid air,
burping,
playing and then falling asleep standing up (i think she is fooling us on that on) and then pouncing us when we have our back turned,
she also does this weird thing where she runs and slids on the lienolum (sp) at us at about 40mph, lol
kidney beaning all the time,
giving our friends skin kid lessons on misbehaving, lol, she teaches him to be bad by running around the house with him, lol,

Does not swim, or sing, Bandit does sing though, boy do i miss that.
Does not know that Sunday is Nascar day and Mom and Dad are allowed to sleep untill 9 am.
Does not like going out side if there is no sun out.....i know that is a weird one.
Does not like rain on her back or getting her feet muddy.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
DOES NOT KNOW SHE IS A DOG, THINKS SHE IS A HUMAN, but dont tell her that.

But she is our and we love her to death, and wouldnt trade her for the world, but i would trade Matt for another boxer, hehehehe

Boxer Traits

I am a new comer to this site and new to being a boxer mommy. Belle exhibits all of the traits mentioned and is the love of my life. She is very smart. My husband has taught her to sit, stay, speak, roll-over, and play dead. She is so proud of herself when she performs and of course can't wait for that "special treat". I love boxers!

Talking

Does anyone else have wood/laminate flooring - Bonnie runs like a cartoon dog - legs going fast - body going nowhere!! She is 18months old and still sits on our laps!
Will 'wash' her face in her water bowl if its dirty and then come for a 'kiss'. Dogs just don't get better than a boxer!

Cool My Boxer Surfs

My boxer, female called 'cariad' - (welsh 4 darling) can surf.

i went out body-boarding a while back and managed to get her onto the board. The thing is, she can now balance better than me, especially on waves, when she leans into the flow of the water. Other kids surfing think its funny, but I'm quite proud!

she also kidney beans, farts, catches flies, snores, wipes her face on me after dinner, steals all the bed after i fall asleep, likes fruit, wriggles around on her back, barks like she has a bad cold, howls occasionaly and looks so serious about it, it makes our sides hurt with laughing. She also loves water and will swim arounf for hours and fetch things up from underwater.

i now don't want kids, i want another boxer!
