We feed all three of our dogs separately. Nano & Rosco eat in their crates & trucker in the kitchen. We actually have never had a problem with food but we have three very strong personalities here so I have always figured why take the chance.
I hope Bailey is doing better! Is he home now?

Thanks for checking on Bailey. It has been a VERY long few weeks. His jaw seems to be healing fine. However, he developed two sores about 8 days after the incident on his knee and belly/flank where hair doesn't grow. They appeared to be hotspots so I treated them as such. However, the one on his flank got worse and I took him to the vet. The vet thought it was where Beau's tooth grazed Bailey's skin during the fight and caused an infection (that makes NO sense to me or anyone else for that matter especially since his belly is the first place I check after a fight to make sure no vital organs, etc. could have been injured) and gave me some ointment for it. That was Halloween. It got worse over the weekend so I took him back the following Monday morning. The vet took a culture of it but didn't do anything else. It formed a huge abscess that eventually ruptured. The culture came back as 3 different types of bacteria so he started a new antibiotic Saturday. The wound appears to be healing but it still looks pretty gnarly. My poor baby has been through so much. I'm so ready for him to be all better. He goes in Friday to have the splint removed from his jaw and the vet will treat the would while he is under anesthesia if necessary. The whole ordeal has cost me over $970 and I expect I'll be forking over at least another $150 on Friday but I'll pay whatever I have to so that my baby gets better. I hate seeing him look so sad
Thanks for checking on my sweet boy
Here is a picture I took of Bailey last Wednesday as the abscess was still forming (it got much worse):

Oh my gosh that looks AWFUL!! How in the world..?? I don't understand how a graze from a tooth could turn into THAT, especially if you didn't notice a scrape in the first place.... Do you think maybe he could have gotten scratched by something outside, during one of his "escapes" at your parents' house?
So sorry you're going through all this! What a pain -- for Bailey, AND for your wallet! Ugh!
Sending healing ((((vibes)))) to Bailey!
And NO MORE FIGHTING, you silly boys!

Poor baby!!! Sending healing vibes Bailey's way. My boys fought something terrible over food when they were puppies. After breaking up many fights, I finally just started feeding them in their crates, in separate rooms. After doing a bunch of research about it, I figured if that was my only problem I can deal with that!! It wasn't worth the risk (and the vet $$$!) I hope Bailey is feeling better soon.

Poor Bailey! And I thought I had probems. Oscar's wound got infected under the scab but the whole scab got pulled off by the vet when she removed the staples, so he is getting another week of antibiotics and I have been instructed to put peroxide on the wound to keep it soft while it heals from the inside. Sending lots of healing vibes to Bailey.
