First time on a boat!
We love to camp and fish at the lake and have taken the girls a few times before. What's funny is that they HATE the swimming pool but LOVE the lake shore... I think it must have something to do with the gradual slope into the water. They will chase sticks into the water for hours. This weekend we are going with some friends who have a boat and will be taking the girls on the boat with us. We already got their doggie life vests (so cute). I was wondering if anyone else takes their boxers on boats and how they like it.

When we first had gotten Bella, we took her with us out on my BF's parents boat, however she was so little and I was so nervous I just held her on my lap (or squeezed her on my lap as tightly as I could). This summer, she's gone out a couple of times, and absolutely LOVES it. She doesn't run around like a maniac (thank god!), but she'll stand at the very front of the boat with her face flapping in the wind! I get so nervous, I make my BF hold her collar so she doesn't jump overboard (and wind up UNDER the boat), but she really does love it. After a while out there, she'll either lie in the shade under the dashboard, or right in the sun on the front of the boat with her head resting on the windshield! If your nerves can handle it better than mine, I'm sure you'll all have fun!

Minxie loves to go on the boat. We have not been taking it out that much lately, but when we do she is right on the seat next to my hubby. She must think she is the first mate! As for swimming pools Minx does not like them either, but she loves running in the waves at the beach.

Lucy LOVES the boat! She especially likes to cheer on people as they water ski. Dexter didn't seem to care either way, but Lucy definitely likes it. She likes the wind in her face! She also likes to jump off the boat and go swimming!

Sophie loves boating! She will stand up at the front with the wind blowing her ears back and her jowls flopping around. LOL
She adores the beach and chases the kids thru the sand, bites the waves that come ashore and will follow the kids out until she gets up to her belly and then stops.

Basil has been out once (I plan on taking her again within the next week) - She had a great time... so good that she fell asleep on the way back to the dock (and it isnt a big lake) - She did not run around on the boat, she actually sat in a seat like a person. She also went up front a little bit. at first, she was laying with her fae in the wind, i think she was a afriad to stand up and have the wind in her face, but she eventually did when we were tubing. She did not go into the water on her own though... we had to drop her in (not throw!) -
Oh and a word of caution, make sure you take her to shore to potty. We were a little late on doing it, and she peed on the boat! Since it was a new experience she was a little nervous. I swam with her to shore and she went again and was fine.

With their life vests on our gang gets kind of hot, but if we like it, they like it.

Edgar loves the boat. He has his own vest because he fell in the lake. I caught a fish and he was just being nosey. Scared me to death.

The girls did great! They loved the water and swam like crazy. They were exhausted at the end of the day! The link below is a slideshow of the trip.

Maggie loves to boat, we have a cottage and a pontoon boat and she actually pouts when we leave on Sunday and starts smiling on Friday when she sees us getting ready to go. She also loves to ride on the jetski with me.
