sitting on kittens

I got two kittens a little over a week ago and rocky loves them and they are starting to really love him its sweet they all cuddle. But rocky sometimes its like he doesnt see them or he doesnt know they are small and he trys to sit on them! He does this to me when he wants to cuddle so thats what im thinking hes doing to the kitties but they are only 7 weeks old im worried hes going to hurt them does anyone have any advice in this situation??

Re: sitting on kittens

I think your on the right track, sounds like his way of trying to get attention from the kitties (same way he sits on you for attention). Not sure of how to remedy the situation other than just keep a close eye on them when they are together. Best of luck with the new furkids. I don't think mine could live with a cat - they would think it's a toy or maybe dinner (yikes).

Re: sitting on kittens

When we got Falko he was 9 weeks old, and at the time we had a 3 month old kitten that Falko fell in love with. (there is a pic of the 2 of them in my gallery) Falko always cuddled with him, but didnt realize he was so much bigger that Cody was. We just had to keep an eagle eye on the 2 of them. They are the best of buddies.
Just keep and eye on them, and good luck with all those critters!

Re: sitting on kittens

My 9 yo Boxer girl, Ruby, lives to play and wears the Lab out very quickly. One cat hates her and won't play, the other cat won't play but will purr up against her, touch noses etc. Very cute.

What is scarey is that Ruby will try to play with the horses, going up to them and barking, licking their noses if they put their heads down close to her. Even more scarey is that if one of the younger horses is laying down, Ruby will go up to them and bite their manes in an attempt to get them to play. Fortunately for Ruby, they grew up around her and usually ignore her.
