At night, I put petey outside while I lay my son down for the night. This generally takes no more than approximately 10 minutes so its not really that big of a deal
usually.
So I put my little boy to bed and go to open the door to the back yard and Petey is sitting there at the door, "all smiles", with his tail wagging at an extremely happy rate as if he has accomplished something of grand importance. I step outside, pet him briefly, then go to sit down when I notice the pad to the chair I normally sit in is missing and the so are the cushions to the other chairs that we keep on the patio. As my eyes slowly adjust to the darker settings of the night, I notice little fluffy objects scattered with no point or reason through out the back yard and it hits me all at once......."PEEEETTTEEEEEEEEEEEY!!!!!"
That no good, spoiled, scoundrel of a dog (just kidding Petey

) managed to SHRED and entire cushion in the back yard and spred it out so perfectly through out the yard that you might would think he planned it....
you think
?
I look down at him to scold him and what do I see? A huge slobbering kid full of heart looking at me like he had done some amazing feat and expected to be rewarded for it.
I squatted down slowly, looked sternly into those big dark eyes, raised my hand to his head, and petted him like the good dog he is.
After all, what was I supposed to do? He has obviously saved me from sitting down in a man eating cushoin, and has gone the extra mile to make sure no one ever sits in that dsatardly, coniving, stuffed cushion that deserved to be spread to the 4 corners of the earth (backyard), so I have to thank him some way or anyther.
ps thats the first time he has chewed on anything that belonged to us. I was slightly surprised to walk out and gradually have the stuffed insides of a cushion become clear in my vision. Guess I will have to watch him a little bit closer when I put him outside.
Hope everyone has a great weekend
