Re: Unpleasant experience on walk tonight

That's small dog people for you. They have that Napoleon complex.

Just kidding. Some days I just cannot resist a snide remark and I do like small dogs. I just prefer something bigger and less yappy.

I would have made the same decisions and probably said the same things. You did not do anything wrong and hindsight is always 20/20.

Her remark was most likely a pain response. The only person she could lash out at was you. You are a stranger. It was safer. Certainly she will not think that she did anything wrong and technically neither one of you did. I am sure she regrets calling you over and is angry at herself. It is a no win situation.

I am glad that you and your dog are okay.

That's exactly what I was thinking!!!!

I wouldn't change your route! You didn't do anything wrong!!!! If she says anything to you .... remind her that she is the one who asked you to bring your baby over to meet her little one!

I vote for her being a nutcase! I'm sorry you had to deal with this.

Re: Unpleasant experience on walk tonight

I would also have to vote for the nutcase option. That is a very "here we go again" reaction from her husband. You did the right thing by telling her you were sorry SHE hurt HERSELF. You were a small part of a large chain of events, and there was nothing more you could have done. I would not change my walking route, unless of course your "woof" gets anxious there after all the drama.

Re: Unpleasant experience on walk tonight

never would i change my route or my wife. My wife is little and she walks both our boxer and our very large american bulldog. With no trouble at all would she have walking past a house like that in fact she would make our dogs sit and show that lady how a good dog acts. We dont like to introduce dogs on the leash unless the other dogs are as calm on the leash as ours. If a dog is pulling on the leash we just keep walking past and ignore the dogs but with a smile say hello. Although if you dog has trouble with meet and greets with other dogs you might want to work on that socializing a little bit more, especiall since the bottom back and from are a normal intro sniff spot.
