Husband Beater - kind of long
Okay, so let me set the scene. Last night I'm outside with Punchie and we're playing with a stick; fetch, etc. Well, I take the stick and I'm sort of waving it around my body - she likes to chase it. Well, I go to hand it to her and I guess she got too excited and she grabbed for it, but got my thumb instead - HARD! Of course I scream out loud "Ouch!" and play ceases while mommy sucks her now very sore thumb. DH is looking out the window - and says "Did she bite you?" I respond, "Yes, but it was an accident." And we go inside at this point. DH is in the kitchen; as we walk in the door Punchie goes over to him and he's acting mad at her telling her what a bad girl she is for biting momma. (I'm still nursing my thumb) Now here's the part where hubby's brain fell out his a$$. He pretends to spank her! Now keep in mind, we don't spank/hit our dogs - AT ALL, EVER!!! So, had I had my wits about me, I would've realized he was trying to mess with me, because he was acting mad and I'm saying "It's Okay" "Really, It's Okay" He thought he was being cute, by putting his hand down beside Punchie's rear and then smacking his own hand, which made a really loud smacking sound. Bet he didn't see what was coming next - my hand smack across his bare back before I even realized what I had done. I smacked the crap out of DH! And hard! I didn't really mean to, it was just a knee-jerk reaction when I thought for a split-second he had spanked Punchie. Don't know where it came from - but let's just say, I bet DH thinks twice before playing with my emotions

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.

That's great!!! You should get yourself one of those t-shirts like Punchie has that says "I didn't do it."

Oops - you go girl I would have done the same! Like yourselves we never hit the dogs but my in-laws are from the old school of dog training and have raised thier hands to Dino when he was younger - luckily I restrained myself and did not rush across the room and bop them one They have now got the message thank goodness.

LOL
I think I was in shock almost as much as DH was. As soon as it happened, he was like, "What the hell?" I was sort of like, "Um, oops." But really, he should have known better hee, hee, hee
