I'm SOOOO proud!
We've had Oscar, our rescue for about a month now.
He's getting MUCH better at going outside for potty breaks (we had one accident on Monday morning, but that is because I didn't realize he was standing at the door to go out, I thought he was looking for my husband who had just left for work). We're definitely getting along much better in the housebreaking department. We've only had five or six accidents in the house (three of those the first two days, so we are doing a LOT better).
This afternoon, I took him out off leash in the backyard and told him to 'go potty'. Now we have a kennel in the backyard that has a concrete floor in it. Our older girl, Semmi, used to hang out in there when we did yard work because I can't trust her happy butt off lease...but now, it is where everyone goes to poop. Going to the kennel pretty much means 'go poop'.
So he takes of running for the kennel, dashes in, does his business, both poop and pee , and dashes out so proud of himself! I didn't know what to say! I was so excited, so I got him all excited! It was a great moment in Oscar history! Hopefully, we'll repeat it again in a little while.
Whoever had this dog before really let a good one go...but what is so funny, is he knows a lot of commands that we are discovering. He knows 'leave it', caught on to 'stay' too quick to have just learned it. Knows 'sit' really well and 'come'.
*sigh* Poor guy...
Just had to share! I was so proud of him!
