On Saturday we went to the auto mechanic to pay for the most recent repair on my car. George is the man that gave us Junior a year ago April. We have known George for 6 years starting back when Jack was involved in Rotary Club. He is a wonderful man, very involved in the community and is originally from Romania. He is a specialist in German autos and has raised and owned boxers for a majority of his life. He has a special affection for Jack and me and always is trying to install a baby seat in the back of the car (subtle hint huh?) I know that it was very difficult for him to give up Junior but he had very little free time (single man) and his other boxer Rudy is older (10) and George wants to spend more quality time with him. Junior needed a lot more human interaction and at age 2 was still a silly pup - we were starting to look for a boxer - so it made sense.
ANYWAY, I know George is having some struggles as he is working so much and now his son is having some difficulties (works for his dad) and George wasn't himself when I was there during the week. Seemed like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
So, we decided to bring Junior to see "Papa George" WOW- the look of joy that I saw was definately worth it. Junior doesn't really remember him as much as he did before but he kidney beanned full blast none the less. Junior had on a big boxer smile

George had other customers there but made them wait so he could see his Junior. We could tell it made his day. Geroge thought Junior looked happy and healthy. The true gift of boxers is the joy that they bring to those that are fortunate to be around them.
It is so hard to give up a boxer even if it is to a wonderful home. That I know first hand. We love "Papa George" so much and always try to drop by with pictures or even Junior if we are happening by.
If someone let you adopt their baby, be sure to drop a line or a photo... the small jesture is worth a mountain of joy (for both families

)
