Question Lola's weight, advice wanted please

I got Lola weighed today as she is now 1 year old and I haven't had her done for 3 months and she was 25.5kg (56.22lbs)
The last time she was weighed (at 9 months old) she was 24.3kg (53.57lbs).
Now to me she doesn't seem to have put on much weight, is this normal, is she the right weight for her age etc? They said at the vets that it wasn't a big gain but that's all they said.

My Wilma gained 5 lbs between from the time she 12 months old to the time she reached 18 moths old. This is when our babies really fill out. She may not seem heavier to you, but trust me she has put on muscle in all the right places. I think Lola sounds perfect. Wilma is now 2 yrs old and is about 58-59 lbs. She gained another 2 lbs from 18 mos to 24 months.

Good job LOLA!!!!!!

Sounds pretty normal to me Lola looks to be a very good weight for her age in her photos - she's not as lanky as many pups And she will continue to fill out as she ages, but you're way past the age of visible growth spurts.

No idea how tall she is, but at around 25Kg, she is right at the correct weight according to the boxer standard for a bitch of around 22". I suspect she's a little taller than that, but she *is* still a puppy and has another year or two filling out to do. Chances are, you're going to see another 4-5Kg (around 10lb) sneak on there before she's mature - and if it's indeed that much, that will put her above the weight range indicated by the standard. But it will be very gradual, and you probably won't notice (till she hits the scales, that is ).

Thanks for that, it just didn't seem much to me and I wasn't sure if it was ok or not. I'd hate to think of her as under weight but also don't want her over weight.
I'm going to dig out a tape measure and measure her. I'll have to do a search as to where her withers are though, I've forgotten

This web site is such a god send, it truly is.

Right I've measured her, floor to withers and she was 24"

OK Well, she is a tall bitch then - but I think you already knew that. And at only a year old, it is possible she'll sneak another inch in there too

The standard has 25-27Kg as the normal weight range, but I think you're more likely to end up around the 30Kg mark. But probably not before she's at least two years old, or even three

Beau didn't gain a single OUNCE between his 1 and 2 year check-ups. The wonderful people here at BW reassured me that he is perfectly fine at 24.5" and 56lbs!

Star is 24inches and weighs in at 28/29kg but she was stuck at 26kg from age 1 til about 2 years then she began to fill out to her final weight.
