Adult male neck girth
Hi all,
As we will be soon welcoming a new boy into our home a friend of mine bought a collar (expensive one) to match my girls collar for the new arrival. The collar is 21" long with a number of holes in it for the buckle. I was wondering will this collar fit him (when he is fully grown, i know it wont at the beginning!) or is it way too big or way too small or will it be just right??
Thanks in advance.

Seems a bit big to me however if it is adjustable it might work.
21 inches is nearly 2 FEET.
That is a whole lot of neck!

When u say 2 feet- that sounds huge!!! lol! 21" is the full length of the collar and it has quite a few notches to tighten it. I hope it works- its really pretty!

if u need to u can have a saddle shop ( with a leather punch ) add new holes !
sams rolled leather one is a bit big so i have it in the smallest hole , i just took a black small hair Tye and slid it on the collar to " keep " the extra leather flat along side so it wasnt just flopping over and looking silly

Our Thatcher is a very large male Boxer. His sire was CH Draymia's Dances with Box-Sin (Tuxedo).
Thatcher was 105 Lbs at his last vet visit, and the vet said though he is large he isn't overweight.
I just measured his neck by tightening his collar to snug and then taking it off and measuring the collar from the latching point to the end, so only the part that makes a circle when it's closed was measured.
Thatchers neck measures 21.25 inches.
If your Boxer doesn't reach 100 pounds then a collar that goes up to 21 Inches should be fine.

I can only put one more notch on it at most, it has swarovski crystals on it. (So pretty!)
Rbastedo: Thanks for the advice.
God do you have one big boy!! Id love to see him in the flesh! The largest boxer I weighed when working in the boarding kennel was just under 81 pounds and I thought he was a monster! More gorgeous boxer to cuddle!!

I have a picture of him and his mom somewhere, I'll find and upload it.
They are laying in her yard after playing hard both of their tongues hanging out what must be 10 inches. It's a great shot as it shows how alike they look.
He is HUGE, I don't let my 10 year old daughter take him on a walk alone because when he decides he wants to go a certain direction it takes some strength to stop him. Still he's as sweet as they come, he loves us all and really wants to please us. Still a lot of puppy in there, in fact that's still one of our names for him - "puppy". It doesn't fit physically, but sometimes it does mentally / emotionally.

Actual neck Size 20.5"
Hi, my Rock is a male about 85-90 lbs. and is exercised daily, so he is definitely not overweight. He is just big and solid. I don't know how the manufacturer's measure their collars, but I use a 22" round collar on him and it works fine.

Thor weighs 95 lbs and has a 20 inch neck, and yes he does have a few extra lbs, but he has been wearing the same size collar since he was about 2 yrs old (he's almost 9) and weighed 73 lbs. He's just always had a big ol' neck. It's better for hugging on.
