Weight

I just got my first boxer pup on Saturday. I'm trying to find an average weight for an 8 week old boxer. Mine was one of the smaller ones in the litter. He weighed in on my scale at 6.6 lbs. That just seems little to me. Does anyone have any ideas on the average weight for an 8 week boxer? He seems to eat really well and drink plenty. He does vomit throughout the day but in little amounts.

Bentley was 8 weeks old when I brought him home and he was just 7 lbs. He is now 7 mo. old and weighs about 46 lbs. It's really fun to go to "Boxer Anatomy and Physiology" in the forums and compare everyone elses dogs weight with yours. Congratulations on your new puppy, what did you name her?

Thanks for the reply. I took him to the vet tonight and he said he's a little on the smaller side but nothing to be alarmed about. He's eating great so I guess I shouldn't worry too much. We named our puppy Rocky. He is a brindle boy with just a tad bit of white on the tips of his toes and a little white on the chest. He's been lots of fun these last 3 days!

it varies

all boxers can weigh different amoutns when they are young. Trust me - he will gain weight like CRAZY!

Rocky was 9 weeks when we took him home - he was 12 pounds. He's now 7.5 months and nearing 60lbs. He's also a boxer/st. bernard mix (about 15% bernard) so he's a bit bigger than your average boxer.
