Wink she's a big girly

Hi,

Everyone that meets my little baby comments on her size, so we measured her last night (she doesn't look big to me, she just seemed to go from tiny baby to bigger puppy overnight). She has just turned 7 months old and is 60cm already (she has yet to fill out bless her). I wonder just how much longer my gangly baby's legs can get!

Does that tongue grow proportionatley a well.....LOL

She is a big puppy indeed! The maximum height for boxer bitches per the breed standard is 59 cm (23 inches, for those who think in imperial measures), and that refers to adults. Your little girl is over that and still plenty of growing time left!

As a rough average, I think that most boxers are probably within about 3 inches of their final height by the seven month mark. That is an average though, and they do grow at quite vastly differing rates. Some dogs still haven't reached final height at 12 months of age, whilst some others are mostly done by about 9 months. It is quite possible that your pup just happened to be one of those that sprouts upward very quickly and may then be much closer to final height than her 7 months would suggest (i.e. she might not yet grow 3 further inches). And if not - then you're going to have a giant amongst boxer bitches on your hands

Funny you should mention about the tongue.... yep they do grow!!! Kona is a big girl (though not as big as yours) and for AGES she had this huge body and tiny head. Only in the last month or so has her head (and tongue included) started to grow and be more proportionate with her body! Just when I was ordering her 'pin head 4 life' collar

LOL, the image you have just conjered up in my head!!

I suppose the bigger the tongue all the more to kiss you with.

She is already a dab hand at standing up at the work surface (yes she does get told to get off), and sticks her tongue out as far as she can to just try and catch a lick of something tasty. I think she must be related to a lizard, the way it just keeps coming out!!!
