Tail length
so i know most boxers don't have much more than a nub as a tail... but jasper had a pretty long tail (for a boxer) when we got him.. (about 2-3 inches) and was curious if anyone elses boxers tail was slightly longer than "normal"
think it's cute though that his little nubbin shakes back and forth not his whole butt, my friends boxer with a nub moves his whole back end!

i think nixxon's tail is about 2"-3" also. when he shakes it, it reminds me of the movie shallow hal and Jason Alexander's character that has a tail.

I believe there are various tail docking lengths for a boxer. There are the 3-4" and the very shorter, less than 2" nubs. There are more experts on this subject. But Lily's docking must have went bad cause she only has 1 vertebrae in her nub. And she has absolutely no control over her wiggles because of it!!! Damn Amish breeders!!!

Koa's is about that length, although he still wiggles his whole butt too. There's nothing on earth like the boxer wiggle
I read somewhere that there's two lengths for docking, the standard resulting in the stubby little tail and a "show cut" about 3 1/2 to 4 inches in length. If you see show dogs their tails are longer, the handlers are always holding them up. If you got your pup from a breeder that shows their dogs, I'm sure they'd want to cut the whole litter to show length in case they decide to keep a pup for show.

Lily's right There's no set length, so it's really up to the docking vet's interpretation of what it should be. Creek's nub is a bit shorter than Caney's, but personally I think Caney's is perfect When Caney was younger though I thought her tail was a bit long, but she has definitely grown into it.

I may be wrong, but most show dogs have a bit longer tails. Roxy had a longer tail. Buter's tail is inbetween and Olive's is a little shorter than I would like it to be, but the breeder had used a new vet and I'm not sure he knew what length it should have been. Oh well, we love her butt wiggles anyway!

I have seen many diffrent lengths, I dont believe there is a set length, but then again I dont know about show dogs.
Karmas tail is nomal but Aries is soo short its almost not there. I got Aries at a pet store before I knew about puppy mills. Now this poor pup hardly has a tail and has horrible dew claw scars. My vet said that the docking and dew claw removal was most likely done on the farm by the Amish. The Amish people are just greedy, and dont care about the pups at all. I will NEVER buy from a pet store again, I will be alot more careful from now on.

Smoke's nub was a dock-gone-bad too... he has just enought to cover his poop hole and tick the vet off when they try and take his temp. He can control just the nub wag, or whole back end wag, which is great fun to watch him do again now that he has shed all those extra pounds

We call Aries his butt plug. The vet has a very hard time grabbing his nub since there isnt much there.
