Going Jogging

I love to go jogging. Toby is going to be a year old next month. I have taken him on a few short jogs with me over the past few months. He is taken on walks regularly but I would love to start taking him on jogs to be my running buddy. However, I have read that you shouldn't take boxers running until after a year old due to their hips. Is this true, if so, when is a good time for me to start?

I could be wrong here - and I am sure someone will let us know the correct answer if I am.

I am sure that I have read on these boards that you shouldn't do any forced excercise with any dog before they have finished growing - around 1 1/2 - 2 years. Before this and you risk damaging their growth plates(?) If you do a search on the forums you will come up with your answer.

There are plenty of members who do regulary run with their dogs, I run 3 miles a day with Billy and he loves it. In the extreme summer weather I leave him at home as it gets far too hot for him here. Also, build the distance up slowly - we started with the couch-to-5k plan!!!
